If you like FRIED American fare, this place is for you! Recommend the 1/2 Fried Chicken, substitute French Fries for Queso Mac’n’cheese and an order of Sticky Sauce for dipping! The coleslaw is vinegar based and uniquely good. Great value (affordable), very friendly staff that are stalwart figureheads that make the culture of this establishment what it is. Old school throwback neighborhood establishment vibes. As always, Tell’em OuttaTownTony sent you via Google Reviews!

Fantastic spot for classic comfort food! The fried chicken is crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked—definitely the highlight of the menu. Portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, giving it that true old-school neighborhood feel. The staff are friendly and the service is quick. A must-visit if you’re in St. Louis and craving great homestyle food!

Very good fried chicken. It may sound weird, but I liked their fried chicken livers more than the chicken. The breading on the chicken has no seasoning. Quality chicken, nice crunch, zero spice. Again, very good. I just like at least some seasoning. Service is outstanding. Place has tons of character as you would expect from an establishment that’s been around since 1962. A must stop for anyone on a fried chicken journey.

Perfect experience. Greeted at the door by Richard where he discovered i was a world famous Fine Artist and we were treated like i was The KinG of STLmo. I even received a letter the next day in my mail asking how our Hodak’s experience was. but are you Experienced?, well Jimi i am now…lol

Fried chicken didn’t have the same batter that it used to have. It used to be really crunchy. Not a fan of a cornmeal like batter. It was good but I love my fried chicken. Server was awesome. Rest of food was great!

I went to Hodak’s for lunch. Someone suggested for me to try it bc of the chicken. I did and I didn’t like it. The breading was too thick for my liking and the chicken was bland. It was very juicy!
Amy was my server and she was a doll! Customer service is very good!

I only come for the Pork Tenderloin when they have it as a special. I don’t think the chicken is bad per se, but a lot of my family functions would buy their chicken so I think I’m burnt out on it. Sides are always great. Our server was light spirited and cracked some good jokes to lighten our day!

I’ve come to Hodaks three times now and each time I have tried something different. Unfortunately, I have not been impressed with the food aside from the salmon there isn’t a lot of flavor. The service and atmosphere are good everyone is usually friendly.
