Quite easily the best burger I have ever had!!! I am not usually a fan of bacon in my burger but this was thick yet crisp to perfection.

We visited San Diego and we had to try this legendary place. We made sure to go before the dinner rush because it does get super packed.

Great burgers & shakes! Very thick and juicy. My party of four ordered two single (patty) bacon cheeseburgers, shareable half frings (onion rings and potato wedges), chicken tenders for the little one, strawberry shake to share, and the Guido burger for myself. Everything was good, fresh, and hot. The portions were so large that it was too much food for us. We totally could have split burgers but nonetheless I appreciate the hearty portion . While I liked the Guido burger it was too much pastrami for me. I personally preferred the bite of my son’s bacon cheeseburger better. The onion rings and wedges were on point!

Perennial favorite and San Diego classic featuring burgers stacked so high with ingredients that they’re practically bigger than your head. The toppings are fresh and the burgers are moist. The “frings” is a combination of onion rings and fries and is enough for an army. The onion rings on this visit weren’t as great as I remember from back in the day. They were hard rather than crisp. Service is friendly, efficient and accommodating. If you’ve been staying away from the OB location due to the long line, the downtown location is easier to get into. Upbeat, casual atmosphere.

This was a very neat supper spot. They have some craft beer on hand but also all the sodas and try out a monster milkshake if you like vanilla, chocolate or strawberry. We each had a burger and shared the large bucket of “frings” which was enough for 6. Some sports TVs and stickers tattoo the walls everywhere. Neat spot.

It’s a good thing that Hodad’s is about 2000 miles away from me, otherwise I would want to eat here every day. These folks know how to make a burger. I’ve been twice and both times I have had one of the most incredible burgers ever. They are loaded and topped with wonderful goodies that make for one of the messiest and most delicious burgers you’ll ever have. Tough call on whether to get fries or onion rings because they are both excellent, so get both. Outstanding beer options. And the service doesn’t suck either. Can’t wait to go back.

Very average fast food quality burgers that cost Gaslamp prices ($20 per person for a burger and a beer). We enjoyed the first few bites but the meat patties were so dry that we couldn’t finish the burger. Food was saved by the unique atmosphere and good craft beer. I don’t think I’ll come back again.

Stopped by this burger place on our trip to San Diego and loved it! The atmosphere was fun, the service was friendly plus relatively fast, and the burgers were delicious! We ordered a bacon cheese burger and a fried chicken sandwich and they were ginormous! The onion rings were the best I’ve ever had. Definitely take the time for this place on your next trip to San Diego!
