Hockinson Cafe

Pretty good breakfast, I’ve been there a few times and the meals are good. It does get pretty packed so be prepared to wait a little bit. The servers are excellent, on top of refilling coffee, not so much water. I feel it’s a little expensive for a basic breakfast but you’re paying for the environment. I wouldn’t go out of your way, but if your in the battleground/Ridgefield area I would recommend giving them your buisness. Please like my post and pictures.

Good food and excellent service from this family owned dining establishment. Went here for breakfast and we’re waited on by a very kind woman. She pointed out menu favorites and though what I wanted wasn’t specifically on the menu, helped me tailor it together to get what I wanted. Establishment had many people (always had a small waiting line) and even with all those people could still hold a normal volume conversation. Had good gravy and a very good chicken fried steak. Will be returning.

Really great and fresh food. Great size portions so you definitely leave with a full belly. And the service from their staff is fantastic. Always friendly and fast! I have been here a few times and I have never been disappointed. Always my first recommendation for breakfast when someone is looking in the area.

The help is always nice and wonderfully helpful. They converse with a warm and caring attitude. The food has both quantity and quality going for it; I rarely eat my whole plate. I’d be a happy camper even if the portions we’re a bit smaller. The decor is classic home-country style with items you’d expect to find in a log cabin up north. There is plenty of seating but it will still get very busy with quite a wait on weekend mornings, so plan accordingly.

Always a great place for breakfast! Parking lot is smallish (shared lot with other businesses in the same complex) as are the parking spaces. If you don’t get in early, you’ll have to wait as this place is popular in the mornings. Great customer service. Coffee cup never goes empty. Plan ahead and you’ll have a great dining experience!

Not sure if i just caught their servers at a bad time but it was probably the worst service I have received at a breakfast joint. The first lady who took our drink orders and seated us got us coffee and water quick but after that it was all down hill. Took forever for our waitress to finally come take our order and she was abrupt, rude and almost made it seem like we were wasting her time. Then she had finally took our orders and walked way without saying anything. Got our food in a decent time but not sooner than one would expect. Other than coffee i don’t believe we ever had the chance to get refills on drinks as our server only came back once to give us our check. They had forgotten a drink also and we had asked about it but by then it was already too late as we were about done with our meal. The server explained how next time my wife needs to remind them of her order. As i said though it wouldn’t have made a difference though because by the time the server came around we were almost on our way out. Only the second time in my life that i decided my server didn’t deserve my money as a tip. Aside from the bad service the facility is comfortable and clean. The food is good but doesn’t blow any of their competition out of the water. Probably will not choose to go back.

Great Atmosphere, (waitress actually took care of the both next to us bill due to her understanding of their situation) Great decor, From the beach to hockinson and now in Battle Ground, WA. They just seem to keep getting it right. Food was fantastic and Orders Were Correct. Waitress returned to check on us several times and refilled our drinks. If I could criticize any thing it would be…. Too Small A Location and Too Little Parking…
It seems this restaurant may have too little of a cooler and or freezer space to bring on dinner hours. Shame…
That was the best criticism I could muster.
Anytime the critic is that we would love to see it expand and more hours… simply put you must get in the restaurant you will love it!

I hope to try this place again someday and actually taste the food. We left because it took too long to get our meal. I get that is was after a holiday and they were busy. But there were definitely some missteps in service on behalf of the waiter and the host who we informed that we were leaving. I will say that the ladies who initially greeted us and served our beverages were awesome and had good personality. I do not blame them for us leaving at all. On the other hand, our waiter could use a lesson or two from those ladies. The look on his face reflected that he did not care at all. The fact that he only took our order and never came back to say “hey, kitchen is backed up but your food is cooking, anything I can get while you wait? I would say they probably need to be better organized as a team on busy mornings. We were there for an hour and did not see much food coming out of the kitchen.
