So the first time I came here, I was sitting next to the owner and didn’t even know it. We got in a conversation and then he asked me what I’d like. I had no idea so he suggested that I get the Reuben. Now I’m iffy on my ruebens, but he guaranteed that I’d like it or he’d get me something else. With that said I got it, and will say that it’s among the best I’ve ever had. Just had another one today. So if you’re driving through and happen to stop in, I’ll tell you to definitely try them out. Great atmosphere, great people and best of all great food.

Me, chicken fried steak and eggs. The steak was tender and delicious, with exactly the perfect crunch to the breaded exterior. The sausage gravy was the right sort of creamy and spice. My wife got a vegetable chicken stir fry, that she said she hasn’t had as good in years. My daughters had pancakes, eggs, and corned beef and hash… all made deliciously and served with a flourish and a smile.
It may seem silly to comment on this, but my older girl was given a pour spout container and my youngest was given maple syrup in a ketchup like squeeze bottle so they could serve themselves with little mess and no extra effort from Mom and Dad. Little touches like these showed the folks here really take pride in, and care about the place. The older gentleman working the kitchen came out to shoot the breeze and give us welcome.
The food came quick, hot, and in portions enough to leave us plenty fed and with leftovers. All in all, it was a slick and modern operation, that hasn’t forgotten how to make someone feel at home. This place was a really great surprise ending, and fine turn-around to what could have easily turned into a *long* day of Christmas tree shopping.
Oh! My wife and son wouldn’t forgive me if I failed to mention the pork and bean soup, thick ham sliced off the bone, with a smooth bean broth that the perfect consistency. The smokey sweet smell of the ham, was almost enough to sell me on it, and I’m not a ham guy.
If you happen to be out this way, do yourself a favor and don’t miss this place.

Got there and ordered an appetizer and drinks. 10 minutes later, waitress took our order and informed us they were backed up and food may be about 30 minutes. We said that was fine, as we had an appetizer coming. Over 30 minutes later, still not even an appetizer. Used bathroom and it was dirty. Heard customer behind us say her husband’s sandwich had been sitting up behind there counter for over 10 minutes getting cold. Waitress brought it out but didn’t offer to reheat it or anything. We finally walked out hungry. For being backed up the restaurant did not even seem that busy.

Food was great, portions were great and the laid back atmosphere is good for relaxing. The waitress was attentive but not bothersome. Overall a great place to eat and plenty of parking. Which as a truck driver was very important. Highly recommended.
