Really good food with a family atmosphere. The staff is very friendly. Space is a little tight, but they’re always full during lunch times which tells you how good the food is. In a world where small local restaurants come and go, this place is a mainstay!

Food was delicious. Servings were enormous. Enjoyed lunch so much that I ordered 3 half pans (shrimp and eggplant casserole, champagne chicken pasta and 5lbs roast pork loin with gravy) for a party that an organization I belong to was having. These three dishes were a great hit and the first foods to disappear. Excellent!!!

Great service, great food, great people. If you’re looking for a simple meal and plenty to eat, this is your place. Parking is easy to find, and you certainly won’t go hungry. We ordered fish platters, po boys, Mac n cheese, and sweet potato fries, and we each went home with at least one more meal in our to-go boxes. The server was fantastic, and we felt welcomed in. I definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quick dinner and solid hospitality

Better than most. That’s the best way I can define this establishment. I ordered the roast beef poboy and one meatball. The opening sentence defines them both. I’m a cook myself for many years and a food critic. So when I say something is better than most, take to the bank. It’s a rarity to find really good food at restaurants lately. The latter could be because high food prices have caused places to cut back and use cheaper products. Whatever the case, hold on when you find a good place with good food- better than most.

At first we were a bit hesitant about trying this place out, but don’t let the look of it fool you. When we entered we were greeted immediately. The food we ordered came out pretty quick. I had red beans, rice and smoke sausage which also came with a side. I chose the potato salad which was not bad at all. The red beans was seasoned well and quite delicious and sausage fried just right! Might I add, it was not Blue Runners either 🙂 .
My mom had a breaded fried pork chop with her and said it tasted good as well. My daughter had fried shrimp and fries which was tasty. Overall, it was a good lunch stop for us that left us all satisfied and full.
Lastly, i don’t know her name, but thank you for continuously checking on us at the table and making sure we were doing fine and if we needed anything else.
If in the area, I recommend you give them a try!

A bunch of us stopped by there for some dinner. I got a meatball parm Po boy and it was fantastic. One of the best I’ve had in New Orleans, if not the best. The service was outstanding. Everybody enjoyed their food. I will absolutely stop there when I’m in that neighborhood.

I just went to hobnobbers and ordered the meatball Po boy with cheese. It was delicious. Probably one of the best I’ve had in New Orleans. The service was great. There’s plenty of tables because it looked to be like most people were taking out. I was with two other people who loved their meals as well.

What can I say about the Hobbnobber Cafe?
OMG! So good!! And the portions were so much more than I expected. Let’s just say I have enough for a full lunch tomorrow.
I had the combo platter. The fish were perfectly flaky and the shrimp were tail-less. Finally a restaurant that removes the tails before frying the shrimp! The side of potato salad was perfect, no onions or pickles (there is a side choice of potato salad or regular salad).
My son had the Tuesday special of trout almondine, which came out fried-which was a little shocking because most restaurants grill it. But it was a larger sized portion of trout, covered with the slivered almonds (and I’m not sure if they had a sauce on it or not, but it looked really good.) And I overheard a regular customer telling her aunt that she could get it grilled or blackened if she didn’t want it fried. But as this was out first time there we didn’t know what to expect, but we know now.
I was a little taken aback by the price, but after I added it all up (because we had an appetizer of mozzarella sticks and I added an order of their Braland Potatoes), I realized their prices are just as awesome as their food!
They also have daily specials (Tuesday-trout almondine, meatloaf and mashed potatoes, something else I can’t remember), that are reasonably priced, with portions large enough to satisfy this hefty appetite.

Ok bought beef stew today for 2 with tip about 40 bucks 2 sm pc of beef asked if I can buy an extra piece of bread they cant sell bread on side 3rd time going here horrible!!
