Beer deal was great with an entree loved it!!!
The wings were the best part, though several barely had any sauce. The pizza is not good imho, the dough is dry and bready , I prefer a soft chewy crust. The atmosphere is great, if you’re a bar rat and like darts and pool, it’s not for me.
I stumbled in on trivia night with every intention of heavily criticizing the wings but i was not expecting to be greeted by a pizza oven working OT.
Grab a seat wherever theres room because this place was not terribly busy, but for a Monday you have know something is up. So i grab a side seat with a view and my waiter who I’m pretty sure was 14 was quick to suggest something on tap and showed me the qr code my addled 41 year old brain couldn’t figure out but managed to find.
I chose a sweet cider and as i don’t drink, i threw it back like a frat boy and asked my young dude if they had pizza by the slice. He said they do and they can customize it so i chose plain because i live on the edge.
I found the wings in the menu hiding in a corner far from the appetizers because, as it would seem, they are in a class all their own. I ordered a basket of 10 wings and since I’m a spice wuss i chose medium.
Remember that pint i pounded? Well I’m a light weight apparently and my lonely self was confident i would ace a round of trivia so i approached the dj for a pen and form.
While I’m sitting, the slice shows up and then the wings in all their glory make their procession to the table and immediately my nasal passages are assaulted by the aroma of deep fried chicken swimming in a red and gold buttery vinegar heat filled flavour bath. Like Pavlov’s dog my mouth salivates and i know this is gonna be epic. My second pint arrives.
The slice is just about perfect because let’s be real, i’m from Brooklyn and no one will impress me with pizza. The crust was crunchy, the sauce was savory, the cheese was just the right amount and i take my time because nostalgia for home and empty local promises fill me with ennui.
First bite of a wing and this is “straight fire” as the young people say (as a sentence enhancer, not an adjective for the Scoville unit) and i am in absolute mouth heaven and the delicious snap of crisp chicken skin and hot meat marries the flavour of red on my tongue. These are real wings and as the menu boasts, fresh chicken makes all the difference. I take another sip halfway down the glass.
Trivia? Nah kid this is my game. I suck the life out of the wings and dip my pizza in the basket of sauce, i should have got a spoon and i barely touched the blue cheese dip. Scribbling answers down and dipping and sipping. Did i get enough wings? Time flies when i have no self control. The slice was gone and i get to the crust which has a really nice texture. Not doughy. The crunch and give.
The last question, the last wing, the last sip. I get half the answers right and decide next time. NEXT TIME. Next time order 20 in hot flavour because medium wasn’t enough and 10 wasn’t enough and 2 pints, yea that was probably enough since i never drink, i stumbled out into the night ready for bed because i’m old.
I will be back and i will destroy.
The burgers here are the real deal: juicy, perfectly seasoned, cooked to order, and loaded with flavor. You can tell they actually care about their food. The toppings are fresh, the buns hold up without falling apart, and every bite tastes like someone actually crafted it, not microwaved it.
This place is hands-down one of Plattsburgh’s best-kept secrets. If you’re craving a serious burger, skip the chain restaurants and head here.to see Becky and the crew! You’ll walk out planning your next visit.
