Our gastropub, Hobgoblin, features magical elements, like our potions, our gargoyle street lamps and our paintings of medieval monsters, based on sketches by monks and nuns. We offer Asian small plates, twenty-one creative cocktails, twenty rotating craft beers on tap, plus a wide range of bottles and cans, selective wine and champagne lists.
Moreover, our downstairs bar and dining space features a 7 foot Yamaha C6X; we will present live piano shows and smaller musical acts on weekend nights.

I had an opportunity to try Hobgoblin and i have to say overall I enjoyed myself. I was greeted promptly but when the hostess was sidetracked another person jumped right in (appreciated)! The music was loud enough to hear but not overbearing to the point you can’t have a conversation. The main dining area is small, you may or may not feel as if you too close to the person sitting next to you. The wait staff were prompt with taking our order, recommendations, etc.
For our meal we opted for the chicken spring rolls and waygu dumplings to start, both delicious. For mains… the Thai bbq crispy chicken sandwich and the salmon jasmine rice bowl. The sandwich I felt was delicious, with only a handful of fries on the side. The salmon bowl was also flavorful served with a salad. For drinks (not pictured) we had the wine stain which is basically a freshing sangria and a passionfruit pina colada-ish twist. We were told we could enjoy the lower level after completing our meals but we opted to head out.

Interesting ambience, food was meh. Limited vegetarian choices and they were not willing To modify any of the other dishes to accommodate. Ordered the mango salad, lacking in flavor and acid, and pad Thai – very mid with minimal tofu or eggs or vegetables. The drinks were interesting. They were out of the traditional dessert and thus got the salted caramel cake-Twinkie-ish with a huge dollop of caramel sauce. Was good.

This place is a hidden gem. If you want somewhere to catch up with friends or go on a date, this is the perfect spot. The decor and atmosphere are beautiful and cozy without trying too hard. I actually went there on a first date, and it ended up being such a great choice. They have a lot of fun drinks to try, which made the night even better. I didn’t have a full meal just fries and dumplings. The music was also at the perfect volume where you can actually hear each other talk, which I really appreciated. And the lava cake… I’m still thinking about it. It was a soft, warm sponge cake with salted caramel in the middle that just melted when you cut into it. It was so warm and delicious that I can almost still taste it while writing this. I will definitely be going back just for that lava cake again.

Vibey slot with basement piano bar. You can have two different experiences in one night, casual bar upstairs and live music downstairs. Cocktails are creative and delicious, the potions come with a fun card. Good appetizers and Pad Thai. Overall really really nice place

4 out of 5 stars. Hobgoblin has been on my list to try for a while and I was glad to go to Park Street to do so. The highlight of the restaurant was the decor/ambiance. They lean heavily into a magic/potions theme. The restaurant was decorated in a way that gave off an old-world Europe feel. It was especially refreshing with so many restaurants now built off the clean-minimalist aesthetic. The food and drinks for the most part were very good, especially the pad thai. The main reason this restaurant wasn’t 5 stars imo was the price. The dishes were quite expensive and portions were not large. I feel like the driving factor for the price point is the downtown location (Park Street). Still, overall a good experience and I would recommend checking it out

I recently visited this restaurant and had a wonderful experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal.
The drinks were also excellent, especially if you enjoy cocktails in a vibrant restaurant.

Without question, this is one of the swankiest restaurants in Boston. Two floors, top with a unique bar with excellent, well crafted wood work with a design that shows off its many taps well, and the bottom floor holding a grand piano and classy jazz music in evening. The staff is skilled, polite, and well managed as I have seen the manager’s omniscient gaze surveying the scene often, ready to handle whatever may arise.
I have enjoyed some well made drinks, craft beers, and some of the food. All this was great, but I have only sampled a small part of the menu thus far.

First time in this Asian fusion resturant… good food and mix of flavors…. Lobster dip and pork cheeks appetizers were great. The entry was good but not very big, tasty and enjoyable. Need to improve on the service.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Boston. If you go downstairs, there is live music by the piano. The dishes are absolutely delicious and have very authentic Thai flavors to them. A must try is the lemongrass steak and the shrimp Tom Yum dumpling. The raspberry lobster Rangoon dip is a fun twist on traditional crab rangoons. The cocktails are also really fun and come with a spell to say out loud when you get it
