Reviews
The hoagies are packed with fresh ingredients, generous portions, and tons of flavor. The bread is perfectly soft with just the right amount of chew, and everything tastes made-to-order. Whether you’re grabbing something classic or trying one of their specialty sandwiches, you really can’t go wrong. It’s the kind of place where you immediately start planning what you’ll order next time.
The staff was friendly, quick, and welcoming, even during a busy rush. You can tell they care about both the food and the customers. The atmosphere is casual and beachy, making it a perfect stop after a day by the ocean.
If you’re in Pismo Beach and craving a great sandwich, Hoagies is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back!
However, my second visit was disappointing. I ordered the Steak & Turf Burrito for $29 (before tip), expecting something substantial for the price. Instead, I got a burrito that was half full of fries, with only one or two pieces of shrimp and thin, roast beef-like steak portions. It felt more like filler than a premium meal, and overall, it was very underwhelming.
It’s tough to leave a three-star review because the Cubano was outstanding, but the inconsistency between visits makes it hard to fully recommend the place. If you go, I’d suggest sticking to the sandwiches.
I stopped by Hoagies in Pismo Beach and ordered the Nicco wrap with a cup of chili. The portion sizes were huge, so definitely come with an appetite. The chili was hearty and satisfying, but the Nicco wrap didn’t quite deliver on flavor. It has tri-tip, salsa, avocado, and curly fries, but the ingredients didn’t blend as well as I hoped.
I later found out that the Pismo Wrap is their most popular item. It features tri-tip, pepper jack, avocado, curly fries, and BBQ sauce. I wish I had gone with that instead.
The atmosphere is relaxed with a nice little outdoor patio. It was super busy when I visited, which added to the beach-town charm. Overall, it was a fun experience and worth trying, just make sure to ask the staff what’s most popular before ordering.
I’ll be back to try the Pismo. Overall worth it!
