PRETTY TASTY, BUT PRICEY

*Dont bother paying for extra veggies, as they will not actually give you extra veggies*

Have been here twice now and have tried a decent portion of the menu. I appreciate how they give the wait times for each dish so you can plan accordingly. They do not bring the order up until all items are completed so ordering “appetizers” on a separate order is prudent.

The soup dumplings that are crispy on the bottom are fantastic and worth the wait. Skewers are tasty (especially the beef ones), but the amount you get for price is not a fair deal IMO.

The place is part of the row of food joints called flock. I was really in the mood for dumplings so the younger gentleman at the counter helped me find what I wanted to order. They were really good but for the cost I feel like the serving size should have been larger.

We ordered a few dishes and noticed in one of our last bites that the shrimp was raw and not cooked. If these are the core dishes on the menu and with something as risky as shellfish, it shouldn’t be happening in a respectable establishment.

The servers were nice and voided the order, but will not be returning because of the negligence in the kitchen.

HK is the real deal. There’s a bit of a wait, but it’s absolutely worth it. We ordered the shu mai, green beans, deep-fried shrimp roll, and spicy cucumber salad. While the cucumber salad and green beans weren’t actually spicy, everything was incredibly flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend this spot for some solid Chinese food in Portland.

They were able to make a vegetarian version of the Ma Po Tofu which was excellent. We also had green beens and the shrimp dumplings and they were also very good. Service was also quick and friendly!

Hear this fair account:

I dined here before ever consulting the chorus of reviews, and upon returning to leave my own, I was surprised to find the praise not set higher. I grant that it is pricier, yet mark the difference well, for this is distinction, not excess. The cost rises but little above nearby spots, and the quality of the food more than justifies the coin.

The kitchen shines with cleanliness, the staff serve with warmth and good sense, and there is no awkward reckoning for tips at the end. I ate here twice within a single week, drawn back by a short but well chosen menu where every option earns its place. I tried both dining in and carrying out, and each held true.

Do thyself a favor and order the chicken and broccoli, or turn thy attention to the duck. Either way, thou shalt leave well fed and wondering why the crowd has not yet spoken louder.

The food is not bad, but getting your orders was confusing. The dim sum was not bad price wise, but the mains are expensive for what you get. The stir fried green beans should be criminal for the cost/value.

Located in Flock food hall in downtown pdx. We got dumplings & jia jang myeong noodles. The noodles were very filling – large portion!

The quality of the chicken in the protein wok chicken bowl is of very low quality. It’s $21 for some fatty chicken and 3-4 florets of broccoli. No rice. Not very desirable in texture or flavor.

Soup dumplings had ZERO soup in them, Trader Joe’s soup dumplings are better (pains me to say that). Would NEVER suggest anyone get these dumplings. Dan Dan noodles with bbq pork- pork was dry and tasteless, noodles were ok, a little bit of sichuan heat but otherwise tasteless. Overall the Flock food pod is mediocre and should be skipped.
