Love this place so far. I’ve just gotten lunch a few times but they have a bit of everything on the menu with options for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Plenty of vegan and gluten free options!
I’ve tried the vegan banh mi, vegan reuben, vegan brown sugar cookie, blondie, and Italian soda in lavender and vanilla. The marinated tofu used on both the banh mi sandwich and reuben is delicious. Lots of veggies on both of the sandwiches. The banh mi wasn’t traditional – the mint and cilantro were more like a pesto instead of whole fresh herbs and the marinated tofu is a little different – but I really liked their take on it. Both desserts were really good, but in particular the gooey blondie with the flaked salt topping. I’m also grateful for the option to add cream to the Italian soda here – I love Italian cream soda but this is the first place I’ve been in a while that makes it.
The atmosphere is very casual as you can place your order and pay at the counter and then seat yourself, but it’s still nice and comfortable, and kept clean.

We always have a great experience at the Hive. Their food is freshly made and consistent. The environment is very welcoming and kid-friendly. Customer service is always supportive and we have not had issues, even if our order is wrong or something needs attention. Highly recommend this restaurant for dine in or carry out. Their fries, brussels, and chicken velvet soup are delightful.
Parking is free and usually available. The intersection nearby is rather busy but otherwise easy to get to.
Decor and tables are very suitable for dine-in with a great aesthetic.
Kid-friendly environment, with coloring materials readily available.
We especially appreciate the sink available to wash hands or clean up in the dining area. This is very supportive of a healthy and clean environment.

Bahn Mi was very good, my wife had heady veggie, and was very pleased as well, We shared tater tots which was served with what I would call a spicy remoulade sauce which was enjoyable as well. We both ordered a white chocolate lavender latte hers iced, mine hot, and were pleasantly surprised. For what I would call sandwich fare, it was a little pricy, but all in all, we would rate it an 8 out of 10. Also would like to mention the staff was very friendly during our visit.

This place gets the details right. Like the sink for washing your hands without having to walk to the restroom. Or the delicious hive branded sodas instead of the national offerings. The atmosphere is comfortable, and the food is pretty good too. Prices are reasonable.. not low or high, but fair. Staff are friendly, and available. No one is throwing you out the door once you’re done eating.. in fact, no one is expecting you to eat. Want to just grab a coffee and relax? Go for it. What more could you want out of a place to meet a friend, or sit down to work for a few hours?

The place looks lovely and the food is amazing. Got two meals and two specialty drinks for under $40. Their tots are awesome. The service is slow and there isn’t really table service other than bringing you your food. But the staff is very friendly! The place looks cool and has cute decor but the seats aren’t that comfortable. It’s probably better as a grab and go cafe type of place rather than a sitdown meal type of place. Overall lovely experience here!

This was our first time ordering from Hive. The employees were very kind and professional. The menu easy to navigate. We ordered the breakfast sausage smash sandwich on a potato bun. It consisted of sausage, bacon, fried egg, and cheese. The food tasted fresh and you could tell there were no fillers. I was pleased that we found a health place to eat while in Bloomington.

Wonderful 1/4 chicken lunch. The flavors of the chicken, stuffing, and gravy were so simple but they let the food really play and I was able to enjoy a well cooked meal.
Also, don’t skip the brussel sprouts, though a little balsamic glaze would be nice.

Food is delicious and served in great portions. The prices are reasonable. The aesthetic of the restaurant is lovely. Lots of succulents. Patio is roomy and tables are covered with umbrellas. Patio is also dog friendly. Staff are young, polite, and quick. Food was served within 10 minutes and almost everything was warm. The rice and eggs were a little cold.
My favorite items were the Braised Pork Bowl and the french fries. I loved the seasonings.
Overall, great experience in all aspects.
