Landed in AZ looking for a good quality burger. We got just that. Bartender made sure I was safe with my food allergies (nuts and gluten). Gluten free bun is UDI brand and oil was soybean. Super sweet woman in a relaxed environment. Tots had an odd seasoning not sure if it was rosemary or thyme so wasnt in love with them but everything was cooked perfectly. Thank you! Also great specials for happy hour and a ton of drink options!

We headed out to the Historic Brewing Barrel House on a 1 night layover in Flagstaff. Located right in the middle of the downtown neighborhood.
Friendly staff and as it turns out pet friendly. Unfortunately the night we were there they had only one or two of the appetizer options from the menu.
But the beer options were great. I had a couple Deer Lord , an amber ale and a Lodge Dad, a red lager and my wife had the Oceanfront Property a crisp , clean Arizona Lager.
Outdoor seating is available towards the back of the bar.
We had the Tossed Buffalo Wings as an appetizer as it was one of the two available. They were great, spicy and saucy. Classic wings.
I had the Barrel House Cheeseburger with fries my wife had Vortex Chicken Salad and loved it. Overall a great experience for our night out in Flagstaff.

Food is good, beer is even better. Plenty a different beers to choose from and a satisfying food menu. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. The wait staff is kind and knowledgeable. A great stop for lunch and a brew.

Love the atmosphere of this place. Came in for lunch but wish I didn’t have so much to do that day that I couldn’t stay for a drink. The bar looked pretty awesome and would have loved to hang out there for a little while. The food came out fast and tasted great all around. Drank me an old fashioned root beer. Delicious!

Pro tip: The truffle & Swiss is an almost unbelievably delicious burger! Seriously one of the best burgers. Coarse ground beef, perfectly seasoned & cooked, accompanied by stellar fries (side of truffle aioli). The cook responsible has serious skills! I’d drive a day just for that burger. Beers are muddy, muddled and almost lazy in the brew execution. I mean they’re fine, but no where near where they could be. I went to the cocktail lounge side and was one of two customers, that was a bit of a hack as the other side was v busy. Bar was seriously stocked with choice. I’ll come back to sample the menu some more.

There’s something about going to places like brew pubs or pub grills in places like Flagstaff that doesn’t ever work for me. Usually they get pretty good reviews, but something is often lacking. I don’t drink, so maybe I am missing out on that part of the experience. As for the food at Historic Brewing Company, it was not very good. It started with the loaded fries, which had an offputting, congealed cheese topping that was described as beer cheese. Not to mention that they were cold. I’ve had beer cheese before, and what I spotted on these fries was either directly from a can or a substance that was very old. We also got jackfruit tacos, which were soggy and overpoweringly sweet. The fried chicken sandwich was fine but nothing special due to a lack of seasoning in the batter. I can see from the other reviews that I am in the vast minority, but I was very disappointed in this place and its food. I am done with trendy local pubs.

Awesome little joint. No table service, you order at the register and they bring your food to you. We had the Truffle Mushroom Swiss Burger and the Chicken Sandwich. Omg that truffle mushroom burger was amazing!! Huge selection of beers to try! We had a flight of 6 (Piehole Porter, Party Pie Porter, Hefe, Blueberry Wheat, Amber, and the Mango). My personal favorite was the Piehole Porter. Worth the visit, highly recommend

Great local brewery in a great venue. Food was really good and beer was delicious. They also have some really interesting merchandise available. Highly suggested.
