Look, I realize that you can’t expect world class sushi (or even average) in Minneapolis. But my experience at Hissho sushi was just awful. The “roll” wasn’t even put together. It was just a pile of rice and some fish. I’ve never been served sushi this way before. Price was around $25.

The rice to fish portions were on point. My kids love the spicy crunchyrolls. Staff was attentive and ask me if I needed help. Over all this establishment have the best sushi deli. Would recommend and will go back.

It seems there’s some confusion between Hiko Sushi, an independent sushi restaurant, and Hissho Sushi, the sushi bar located inside Lunds and Byerlys Eagan. Hissho Sushi partners with Lunds and Byerlys and does not serve their sushi on plates, as shown in the photos and reviews.

I went for lunch and the rolls rice was so chewy I couldn’t finish it. Egg roll was OK but would not order again. Service was fast, atmosphere not as welcoming as I’d like. I think they do more take out than sit in.

My husband went to Lund’s specifically to go to Hissho Sushi for some poke bowls. They did not have any created, but the menu and the advertisements publicly placed gave the impression that you could order them, when we attempted the workers behind the counter said that they weren’t available only on Wednesdays (today was Wednesday). I took the answer and continued browsing already created foods by them. I picked something out and decided mochi would be nice too since they had a lovely advertisement on display right next to the sushi rolls I picked up. I told them I was interested in getting some mochi. They told me that those were also not available on Wednesdays (today is Wednesday).

I understand that there are specific days some menu items may not be available, but the menu pamphlets had the poke bowls in there on display with no information about them being unavailable specific days of the week, as well as the mochi. It’s not as though the items could not have been made to order — they have all the ingredients to make them otherwise they wouldn’t be able to make the sushi. If it was a matter of not having enough of the ingredients for other things, the establishment should have removed the advertisement for those menu items and publicly displayed a sign that specifically says that those items are not available on Wednesday.

The overall impression I received was that the kitchen staff just could not have been bothered to make any of the items aside from sushi today. I overheard a Lund’s employee come over and ask the staff for them to make a bowl for them by 3 and the staff agreed. Overall very disappointed.

Mostly rice with a little bit of vegetable and almost no fish. This is some of the worst sushi I have ever had. There are better options locally. If you are going the super market route the sushi that Kawalski’s sells is far superior.

AS FAR AS FAST AND GRAB SUSHI, THIS PLACE IS ONE OF THE BEST IN THE METRO AREA, QUALITY IS ON PAR WITH SIT DOWN RESTAURANTS. CHEF IS EAGERLY FRIENDLY TO HELP AND ANSWER QUESTIONS. SHE IS FRIENDLY AND (I SHOULDN’T SAY) VERY BEAUTIFUL TOO.

Best sushi in a grocery. Don’t expect to see sushi on a plate but on the go, it’s worth every dollars spend. Great ppl and service.
