Honest review, the food is nice. I have a problem with one of the servers. When I was done eating with my sister, I wanted to give a tip because yes the food was decent. I accidentally misclicked on no tip because I was going to quick. I quickly apologized to the server but she grabbed the machine from my hand and gave it to my sister to pay for our meal. Like WOW, horrible!! I told my sister do not tip due to the attitude, because I was about to ask if I can go back and click a tip percentage! Never coming back.

Hiraku is amazing! The service is great, staff are very friendly, and actually pay attention to what you need instead of making you wait around. The food always comes out quickly, even when they’re busy, and it consistently tastes well-made. Every roll & dish I’ve tried has tasted great.

Excellent service – attentive, kind. I wanted to try their grilled hamachi, but I pointed at the wrong item on the menu, so we got the raw version (my mistake). Not a biggie. Towards the end, noticing some leftover hamachi, they offered to grill it for me so I get to taste that, too. They did not have to do that – but still CHOSE to. Nice touch!

Low quality tuna, was really fishy, and they didn’t send soy sauce with a $32 chefs choice nigiri and maki combo. Salmon was good, so was the ebi and unagi, but that was still wildly overpriced. They included escolar which can be misleading as fancy if you don’t know better, but trust me it’s filler. It was late evening when I ordered so the quality could be because of that, but I don’t think that’s fair for the customer to have to deal with regardless when there’s other places to eat.

Unfortunately, the service was uncomfortable. Our waitress was dismissive and spoke to us in a condescending tone throughout the meal. Good service matters just as much as good food, and this experience missed the mark. Doubt we will return.

I went to this restaurant today after work with my son, and the service was very disappointing. The waitress ignored me, showed attitude, and was polite only to other customers and my son. She even didn’t asked about what I wanted to order. I felt disrespected and unwelcome, possibly because I wear a hijab. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect.

Shrinkflation is real. $16 total for a dynamite roll and spicy chopped scallop roll. What has changed?
1. Yam tempura instead of shrimp tempura. Dynamite rolls used to have 2 shrimp tempura IIRC.
2. Less crabmeat, more cucumber. 50/50 split now.
Overall, it isn’t the store’s fault that costs have risen so much. However, for $16, I feel like the rolls don’t provide as much value.

A pretty nice neighbourhood sushi restaurant. Friendly, Food is delicious especially if you enjoy the “localized” fancy stuff like”fFrench Kiss Roll” etc.
