Hippo Burgers in Houston is the real deal. From the first bite, you can tell they take burgers seriously. The patties are juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked right, the buns are fresh, and every topping tastes like it was chosen on purpose, not just thrown on for show. This is comfort food done right.
The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the food actually looks like the pictures—which already puts them ahead of the game. On top of that, the staff is friendly, fast, and clearly proud of what they’re serving.
If you’re looking for a solid, no-nonsense burger that hits every time, Hippo Burgers deserves a permanent spot in your Houston food rotation.
They even have a wifi if you need to get some work done also.

This was a decent little burger spot. I had a pretty tasty burger and fries here while in town for business. It was pretty quick to order and get food. The service was friendly and helpful. If you want a pretty decent burger give this place a try.

I wanted to get some fast food, so I didn’t have to cook, but I didn’t want the typical fast food hamburger joints. I thought that this would be the perfect spot to go to get a thick fresh burger. It was not! Over done meat on the burger, made it so dry with absolutely no flavor. Chicken sandwich was the same, dry and way overcooked. The onion rings were burnt, dark in color and so crispy they just fell apart into crumbs. I also ordered two vanilla milk shakes thinking they have to be good, but way to sweet. I wound up throwing all the food away, because otherwise, it would’ve defeated my whole purpose of going there if I had to go a second time and argue about my food.I will never go back. For $40.30 you would think you would get quality food.

I accidentally ordered from wrong one so got there late. They redid my fries which I was grateful for I had the Jr cheese burger was good but the wings and fries and burger were very salty other then that the place is clean service was great .

So upset with today’s services. Hippo burger has my been my number one go to, but after today and the food that was served really disappointed me. My children didn’t even want to eat their hot dogs they were too over cooked for them and everything was just falling apart, buns were too hard and on top of that I had to take back my burger since it wasn’t made correctly. It’s was definitely a rainy day. Soooo upset. I also understand about inflammation in prices but the price I paid for the kids meals was totally not worth it.

The burgers are so huge and delicious i wasnt able to finish it. The fries were seasoned very well and they gave a large portion of fries too when ordering it as a combo.
