I wasn’t disappointed by the takeout from Hip Hop Chicken and Fish; however, the store’s overall appearance, both inside and out, left much to be desired. The lobby was unclean, and there was trash scattered around the exterior. Businesses entering a community should show they care by enhancing the environment, especially when they are profiting from it. As for the food, the chicken was mediocre—adequately fried but lacking in seasoning, the hush puppies were not good but the okra was great. I would like I hope to see them take more pride in both their culinary offerings and their impact on the local environment in the future.

Nothing, and I mean nothing, was fresh. I should have known this was going to be a miss when it only took about 15 minutes for the food to show up via UberEats. Fish was stale, cold, had that sour fishy smell and taste and had all the bones still in it. Greens were undercooked and not well seasoned. Macaroni was mushy, bland, and had a sour taste. The corn bites were ok but too salty. And the store bought peach cobbler was cold, wet, and tasted like it had sat there for weeks. This place is more than terrible. In need of some soul food, I wanted to give it a chance but all I did was waste my money, time, and taste buds. I will never recommend this place and will always regret my decision to try it. If you’re not already indoctrinated into this gross fast food chain, don’t bother and explore somewhere else.

My family and I heard about the place and we decided to try it. If you like good quality food then this isn’t it. The chicken and fish were dry as well as the french fries. We were looking for the juice and freshness all we got is hard and stale. The combo sounded good at first but after barely finishing our food we all agreed to not come back. To that location per say.

Green beans were nothing but mush as were the sweet potatoes. and the French fries were old and dry not cooked on the day of the order.
The chicken breast and catfish were fresh and were the only 2 things we could eat so we paid just under $50 for half a meal from the Shetiff Road location. Will never order from them again.

Ordered food and it was completely disgusting. The catfish was barely fried and mushy inside. I called to inform about my order and it was just a waste of my time. No coleslaw, no tartar sauce, cold fries, and mushy fish.

I was slightly disappointed but the food was okay. The chicken was very dry and had no “crack” seasoning like other locations, the Mac and cheese was good, and the greens were pretty bland. The inside of the place resembles a run down Chinese carry out with flies. My husband said try the location on New York ave, it’s a lot better.
