I started with the Philly cheesesteak; not a traditional Philly, but if you’re open to a plant based twist it delivers that savory, cheesy comfort bite. Definitely worth trying if you love a good cheesesteak.
The Smoky Sweet Snack Wrap surprised me in the best way; crispy, sweet, tangy, and packed with flavor. That little snack attack actually satisfies.
The Wake & Bac’n sandwich was a standout; and they serve breakfast all day which is always a win. The JUST Egg was fluffy, the tempeh bacon had great texture, and the HipCity sauce tied everything together perfectly.
Now let’s talk about the Ziggy Burger; juicy, smoky, layered right. It gave everything it was supposed to give and then some. If you’re searching for a solid vegan burger in DC, this needs to be on your list.
I finished with the protein chocolate milkshake;
It’s also right across the street from Capital One Arena; which makes it an easy pre show spot if you’re in the area.
For my first DC food experience; this was a strong start.
I would give the chicken sandwich a 7.5/10 (my order was not what I asked for but the loud music probably led to the misunderstanding). The “chicken” was firm and flavorful but not crispy as I had hoped.
The French fries were nice and hot but did not taste fresh 6/10
On my first visit, I tried their popular plant-based chicken sandwich. It was good, though I felt it could use a bit more seasoning. On my second visit, I went with the plant-based bacon burger—and that one was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend it!
Everything on the menu is 100% plant-based, which makes it a fantastic option for anyone looking for great vegan food without compromising on taste.
Overall, a great place with solid plant-based options. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in D.C.
I took the dish home thinking I could add more greens to cut the slaw dressing overload and it just turned into a huge MESS. There’s half dollar size chunks of cabbage as “slaw”. This is a disgrace to veganism. Menu should state cabbage chips so people like ME know what type of chewing battle we are up against.
Fries- 7/10
Plain fries and I added salt because they didn’t have any flavor besides the oil it was fried in.
Snack wrap 8/10
– great texture
– Fresh
– Small portion
– heavy pickle flavor that I enjoyed but may be overpowering for some
Chocolate Shake 5/10
– very sweet and syrupy
– I asked them to remake it and they agreed but it was Still a little syrupy so that tells me the chocolate sauce is intense
Mushroom Cheesesteak 6/10
– great texture, they perfected how to get the mushroom to match cheesesteak, but the flavor was fairly bland and mostly tasted like ketchup
The customer service was amazing and they helped give recommendations along with being accommodating to my request. I would go back for the chickpea chicken series because the flavor was great but overall I was not that impressed. Not the place for me, however it could be a great place to so many others!
I ordered four items, the Ziggy burger, the fries, a kale lemonade, and the chick’n nuggets. I most enjoyed the ziggy burger. It had good flavors and best mimicked a beef burger. The kale lemonade was a good thirst quencher
I wouldn’t order the fries or nuggets again. The fries weren’t fresh, but we’re sitting under a heat lamp until my burger was ready. The nuggets had texture, but no flavor.
I ordered but didn’t receive the Sriracha aioli. I tried the hip city sauce and the BBQ sauce. These two sauces weren’t memorable, but I enjoyed the ziggy burger sauce.
I’d like to try the Philly cheese steak. It seems the sandwiches and drinks are worth coming back for.
