Visiting from Colorado originally from Oklahoma. One thing I’m always interested in is the great food I get when I come east. Decided to try this spot based on reviews. Ordered delivery through Uber Eats. Poor decision- Thoroughly thoroughly under impressed. The smallest wings I’ve ever received from a restaurant or even a grocery store for that matter. Wings were also dry, still had feathers and not sure what the white stuff is on the chicken but it’s unappealing. Is it flour?! If so… why?? Cooked in old grease. Fries are soft, bread is soggy and wet – sweated out. Coleslaw is gross. The flavor overall is just not good… only decent item was the catfish nuggets. Appeared to be fresh and cooked in fresh grease. All and all this will be our first and last time ordering from here.

The chicken is pretty good and big. I love that they use salt & seasoning for flavor. The French fries taste really good & the coleslaw is decent. Oh, the fried fish is fantastic in case anyone wants to order for an event. We ordered a big tray, and it’s probably one of the best catered fish trays I’ve had. I can’t wait to try other items from the menu. We catered and ate inside as well. Basic Cafe style environment, nothing fancy but I would love to see the tables & trash can fronts cleaned more often. Friendly, fast as possible service. They have a steady flow so it must be good! Yes, I plan on doing future visits & orders. They have a nice dessert frige as well.

I hate to say it but the food at this here particular location was complete trash!! I ordered 4 family size meals which was not cheap btw & had no problem spending the money because I just knew the food would be finger licking good. I was sadly disappointed to say the least. The chicken looked & tasted like it was cooked in old grease. The famous white powdered seasoning on the chicken that everyone raves about (mind you, I requested extra seasoning on everything) didn’t taste right at all. It was as if it was missing a key ingredient plus it was too sweet. The chicken wings, tenders & fries were soggy, not hot and/or crispy. The hush puppies were mushy on the inside as if they were half cooked. Now, I do not live here locally & I rarely throw food away unless it is just disgusting. Well unfortunately, this was one of those times. My friends & family felt the same way!

Hi, I am a loyal customer to hip hop chicken at the location of 3659 Leonardtown Road in Waldorf Maryland. Yesterday, 12-31-25, I brought 50 pieces of chicken wings. When I got home, the chicken was overcooked. I was not able to bring the chicken back because I was already late and the store was beyond packed. I gave the manager a call about 30 minutes ago to let him know my frustrations and embarrassment to my guest at my home. He explained to me that it’s nothing he can do and that if I brought the chicken back then he would be able to make more chicken. While on the phone, I asked him, are you going to at least apologize, he told me no. I called once more to retrieve his name, he would not give me his name nor would he apologize. I shop at this location all the time and to experience this type of customer service is very disheartening. I will not be back to this location again. Thank you.

They are beyond rude and incompetent. They want to yell at you as if you’re a child or just belittling you when they are wrong. They need to be shut down! As I sat in here for 45 mins when I placed my order over 30 mins ago. I have watched employees use their hands without gloves, dig up their noses, etc.

I know good and well when they lifted the chicken from the grease they saw that some of the chicken, particularly the legs, was black. Yet, they boxed it up to send to me. Dry! In addition, I decided to try the chicken livers and gizzards, as my cousin couldn’t stop raving about the livers. That’s what I get for listening to her. The livers were overcooked and dry, and the gizzards were too chewy. $30 in the trash, which is where the food is. Just one word: YUCK!!!

Very friendly staff. Very accommodating. I came in to pick up my online order, and the guys at the front corner immediately addressed me with kindness and was very helpful. I told them I had never tasted the sides, and they were kind enough to let me sample a couple. My food was great. I really like the potato salad. It tastes similar to my mom’s. She made hers sweet instead of with dill. The mac and cheese was good, too. So are the fried green beans. The fried chicken is delicious. We like the white seasoning they sprinkle on it. Regarding the atmosphere, it seems like an old building that has some wear and tear. It can use remodeling and a face-lift. They do try to keep it clean, though.

If I can give zero stars I would but let me start off saying the chicken was horrible it was fried to hard and to top it off I had a nail cooked inside the chicken literally a nail that you use for building stuff not to mention when I called them to tell them the staff was very rude told me the manager is gone on vacation then they basically told me they don’t care and it’s nothing they can do like they didn’t even apologize for the mistake NEVER AGAIN PLEASE DONT EAT THERE THEY MIGHT KILL YOU !!!!!!! They will be hearing from my lawyer period .
