We found this location online the next day after the March on Washington in DC while it rained. DoorDash app works perfectly in the NE of the capital (not Postmates). We ordered catfish, fries, coleslaw and macaroni. The highlights are catfish, mac and slaw. Why? The catfish was properly drained and meaty. The mac was cheesy and thick. Overall the meal had the lyrical content, tonenality and instrumentation which every Jay-Z album possesses. Wonder why it’s called HHFC because it was all synchronized like a well-oiled orchestra. Can’t wait to visit and order delivery soon again from this location. Succulent and savory are the best words to describe this place.

Hip Hop Fish and Chicken is another over rated restaurant for its seafood. The fish season was off, the shrimp was super small with no flavor and the french fries had no flavor. But, the staff was helpful and friendly.

Idk who taught these cooks how to fry chicken but it’s dry and stuck to the bone everytime I eat here. I love the service but only food I can honestly say I enjoyed out of my meal was the fries. Stop overly frying the chicken or refrying old chicken SMH Never again.

I did UBER EATS this evening. This IS NOT the regular HHF&C off the Uber Eats app I have patron in the past. They gave me old, dark and very hard chicken.. My order was delivered at 930p, as expected but this old hard ass chicken was UNEXPECTED! Just know, you pay more on Uber Eats for the service but even at regular price, this shouldn’t have been served to anyone. It’s like they gave me all the chicken that wasn’t picked up the night before and refried it. Yall see these old ass fries too right? Ok.. I also had mushrooms . Those were actually good. Right is right but I didn’t pay +$30 for fried mushrooms.
The greens needed prayer. I’ll stop while I’m ahead because the overall experience was so bad, I’m up drinking water because it’s too late for me to eat. My friend ate half her food because she was hungry from traveling. But she couldn’t chew the food because it got rubbery after a few bites…
Also, last thing. I order a piece of fish and that was fresh and good. So maybe they should just be HHF & no chicken.

Where to start, employees were nice, food was made fast. That was the end of anything good. Place was dirty and smelled bad. I ordered chicken which was pretty skimpy in quality. My wings still had feathers. Everything tasted like burnt grease which was used to cook bad fish. I couldn’t eat any of it. I couldn’t make up a reason to ever eat here.
