Stopped here while in town for work due to good reviews and it being close to my hotel. I was greeted upojg entering and got a seat with no wait. The food came out fast, and I really enjoyed the Magic Mushroom appetizer, I haven’t had one like it before. I got an unagi roll and a specialty roll which were generously sized, I was unable to finish them, but they were good, and tasted fresh. I will be coming back next time I’m in town!

First off Food and Service was great! There was a few funny little things but nothing major. I thought it was a little interesting that all the Christmas decorations were still up and it’s March. also all of our to go boxes were all broken in the same place and would not stay closed so they gave us all rubber bands. That was a little interesting.

We were seated within 5 minutes. It was a busy night, but the service was good. The only complaint I had was that we kept asking for table settings, and we didn’t get it until the main dish arrived. I needed a napkin to wipe my mouth.

We had the dinner combo for 2. The miso was watered down and didn’t have much of salty clam flavour. The tempura was stale and not crispy. It was sitting there a while as it wasn’t warm when it reached our table. The chicken was grilled but not marinated, meat bland. The NY steak, can only be served well done. Salmon was good however the chicken, NY steak and salmon were all glazed with the same sweet lightly tasted teriyaki sauce. Crocket was good. Friendly service and awesome chef, Charles. Was like a comedy show and told stories and jokes while he prepared our meals. Ordered steak and chicken with sides of Scallops. Meal also came with soup, salad and ice cream.

The sushi was really great! The staff was extremely courteous as well as friendly. I had eaten at this place once before. A special birthday dinner with my Mom a couple of years ago. I will definitely be back. I was really impressed with the entire process once I entered the restaurant.

Terrible customer service the moment my father and I walked In the staff was trying not to serve us. There wasn’t that many other people in the restaurant and for them to take a long time to seat us was ridiculous. When we finally got seated the lady took our drink order. Then a group of people got seated next to us and took their drink order and got their drinks out right away. The staff made my father and I feel really uncomfortable and I’m not sure what judgement they made up in their heads. It’s really upsetting because I’ve never felt this type of judgement from others fellow people in the Asian community. I’m not sure if it’s because my father is white and I don’t look like him and the staff thought something but this was a very uncomfortable experience. Will not be returning and I’ll be sure to tell others about what happened.

We frequent this restaurant quite a bit and most times service and food are top of the line, however this latest visit was a bit disappointing. I believe they may have been training new chefs or been simply short-handed, but the quality wasn’t quite there this time. I always order a tako nigiri (octopus) as well as a salmon skin hand roll whenever I go in. Both were extremely tough and difficult to bite into and chew which is not the usual case. The Super Spider Roll was my best of all that I ordered. I’ll still go there again and give them a try, we all have off nights. Let’s just hope that was case this visit.
