It was our first trip to Hinata’s and I can honestly say I’ll be coming back! Our Chef was entertaining, the cocktails were yummy, and the food was tasty!!! Didn’t try the sushi this trip, but will next time. I have to say though, the rolls sound yummy and very reasonably priced. I tried the Green Valley Special Steak & Shrimp) and my husband tried the Cowboys & Sailors (Tenderloins & Scallops).

This was such a wonderful hidden gem to find in Fairfield. All the fun and presence of a Benihana restaurant at a more affordable rate. We celebrated our anniversary here and the staff was kind, fun, and thoughtful, surprising us with a tempura ice cream. Our Chef was funny, skilled, and attentive. The food was on point and delicious. The drinks were great too. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend checking them out.

The restaurant feels cozy and welcoming the moment you walk in.
The teppanyaki chef’s performance is amazing — fun, skillful, and full of energy!
The fish is super fresh, cocktails taste great, and the bar offers a wide variety of drinks.
Service is warm and attentive, and the prices are very reasonable.
Loved everything here — will definitely come back! ✨

I don’t usually leave reviews but this place is awesome! I ordered Golden Tiger and Rainbow Spacial – one of the best rolls I’ve ever tried. Stuff was super nice and welcoming. Definitely 10/10!

The setting was quiet, and we were quickly seated at one of the hibachi tables. The server quickly came to the table and took our order. We ordered a fried calamari appetizer, a large hot sake, the tenderloin & scallop combination and the steak & shrimp combination. The meal included miso soup and salad.
The sake was very sour and not good at all.
The miso soup and salad were good.
The fried calamari appetizer was never delivered. The server later apologized, and it was not on our bill when we paid.
The tenderloin scallop combo and the steak and shrimp combo were very good with good flavors. They did not serve the traditional sauces, but the sauces provided were a nice change.
The chef was a good cook and entertaining.
The table service was poor; we had to get the servers’ attention a couple of times during the meal to come to the table. We went to the register to pay our bill because the server was too busy to pick up the payment. We noticed and found out later he was the only server there and he was very busy, so we gave the server a pass for the service.
The restaurant was a little dirty here and there, especially the woman’s bathroom room.

We came to Hinata for the hibachi for my co-worker’s last day. We reserved a table for 5:30pm and we were seated beforehand in a private room with the hibachi. Drinks and appetizers were quick to come out and since it was between 3-6pm, the we got Happy Jour prices on select drinks, sushi rolls and appetizers. For the hibachi, we each choose our main entree (each entree includes miso soup, salad, 3 grilled shrimp appetizer, grilled vegetables, fried rice and scoop or vanilla or matcha ice cream). Henry was our chef and he did a wonderful job with his cooking skills and jokes. We got to experience fire, Henry squirting sake into our mouths, Henry flipping pieces of egg into our mouths and fire juggling at the end of his service. There were quite a few out of our crown of 10 people that have never experienced hibachi dinner before, so they thought it was a lot of fun. The prices for hibachi $33 to $75 depending on your entree selection (most items were under $40). The flavor or the food was good overall and not overly salty. I had the Hibachi Steak (New York Steak) which was cooked to about medium well (I asked for medium), but was still tender and juicy. The grilled shrimp and grilled chicken (tasted my co-worker’s dish) were good as well. Overall, it was a fun experience for everyone and we would consider coming here again for a future after work event.

Definitely a solid sushi place if you like the American style rolls, which obviously most people in America do 🙂 I didn’t get any of the Nigiri or Sashimi so I don’t know how fresh their fish was, and it could have been absolutely amazing just I’m sorry I can’t report back on that because I wasn’t in the mood for raw and got a bunch of low brow American imitation crab cream cheese deep-fried tempura, and they were absolutely delicious, so I don’t know how good their actual sushi is, but I can tell you that they’re like comfort food deep fried imitation crab stuffed with tons of cream cheese with tempura batter rolls are epic, both rolls I got were absolutely delicious 😉 . So yeah I’m sorry I can’t give a better critique, like if you ever just looking for some comfort sushi, and you want some deep fried Philadelphia cream cheese imitation crab stuffed Goodness then this is your place because it was Excellent, and I’m sorry I don’t mean to say that’s all they have, because I very literally didn’t have a single piece of nigiri or sashimi, so they’re more traditional stuff might also have been Super fresh and awesome, I just didn’t order it so I couldn’t tell you. Their large 22-oz Kirin ichiban beers are Cold and fresh and delicious though 😉 and their tempura batter is legitimately very good and very light and flaky and crispy and not heavy and greasy, it actually was quite delicious. So don’t knock the deep fried Japanese-American fusion Goodness that was delivered quickly and hot directly from the kitchen by a very friendly and prompt attentive and respectful front house staff that was speaking Mandarin to each other ❤️.
So anyways that’s my semi disjointed but very appreciative review of this place, it definitely was very relaxing and clean and had a comfy kind of family style to it, and me and my buddy did see a few families eating there with children that were enjoying themselves, and they did have a really cool Koi pond and a nice welcoming bar with an Izakaya style theme, so basically this place has it all. I just wish I had tried some of their raw fish to let you know how it is, but unfortunately I only got a bunch of delicious shrimp tempura mn2 different Americanized rolls with a bunch of imitation crab and cream cheese in them that were absolutely delicious, so if that’s what you’re in the mood for definitely this place was 100% solid. And who knows their fresh fish might actually be extremely good as well, I just unfortunately didn’t order any so I couldn’t tell you.
But anyways it was a very enjoyable experience, and they gave me exactly what I asked for, and it was very good, and their beer was cold and fresh and the serving staff was very quick to come when called and very friendly and attentive, and my only complaint, is that I was too stupid to not try out their fresh fish 😉
