I ordered the saag chana, and ate it with some garlic/paneer naan and rice. I was extremely excited to order Indian food and I was not at all disappointed! The saag chana was the perfect amount of creaminess with an amazing flavor. The naan and rice complimented it extremely well. Continuously throughout our dinner I told my family members that this was the best meal I’ve ever had. I am seriously considering ordering the same thing for my birthday dinner. Thank you so much for such a wonderful and tasty experience, Himalayan Sherpa Kitchen 🙂

We ordered the jhol chicken momo, lamb madras, pumpkin curry, and garlic naan. Complimentary papad came with great mint and tamarind chutneys. The jhol chicken momos were great. The filling was decent but the wrappers were impressive: thin, chewy yet not mushy, and clearly handmade from the slightly imperfect pleats. These dumplings were served in a flavorful, spicy, tangy broth that tied everything together beautifully. The lamb madras was loaded with tender meat in a bold, spicy, deeply flavorful gravy. The pumpkin curry was complex with layers of warm spices though a bit undersalted. The garlic naan was fantastic: super garlicky, lightly buttery, soft and chewy in some places, nicely charred and crisp in others. Service was attentive and efficient.

This restaurant absolutely delivers through its name, bringing the taste of the Himalayas to Chicago! Every single dish was so fresh and incredibly seasoned with awesome flavor. You must try their Thakali Set and MOMO – you will love it!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood! We ordered the thakali bhojan with lamb, johl momo, and garlic nan which was perfect for two. Everything is always balanced, well spiced, and never greasy. Thank you!

Honestly, DELICIOUS! We’ve been searching for a good paneer makani AND vegetarian Indian dishes since we moved from NYC. We just found our new, local favorite. The paneer makani and navaratna korma was so, so yum!

This incredible Himalayan restaurant offers comforting cuisine in a cozy, old-school setting — the veggie dumplings were well-flavored and paired perfectly with the house hot sauce, the Sekuwa goat was deliciously seasoned and crispy on the sizzling plate, and the Aaloo Tama Bodi Curry was hearty and satisfying. Overall a very satisfying meal and we will definitely be returning for more.

Fantastic place with Himalayan cuisine: there is definitely a grand chef behind the scenes. We started with vegetarian dumplings that seemed too many but were so good we couldn’t resist. Then we had 2 variations of curry dishes: lamb and chicken. Both were served with pita bread and rice.
The server helped os out with the choice as the options looked a bit disorienting for first-timers and we were not really into hot spices. Don’t worry, there is plenty of options for both hot and mild palates.
The location is perfect for a date or a dinner with friends. 0lenty of vegetarian option too!
The room is filled with pictures of nepal and Himalayan landscapes and people.
Happy to have been here: will definitely be back!

Delicious. I’ll tell you what to get
1) Lamb Curry
2) Garlic Naan
Done deal…
Lamb curry comes with rice.
Their poppers (chips) was good too. Very thin, crisp, light, and flavorful.
Cozy place. Authentic. The lady who served us was very nice. I really enjoy going to this place. We’ve visited 3 times so far.

Ok wow. We ordered pick up and the food was all still piping hot when I got home.
We ordered:
– chicken tikka masala
– butter chicken
– garlic naan
– roti
– veg samosa
Everything was top tier. The tikka masala and the veg samosa I would eat once a week. It’s so delicious and light but full of flavor.
Honestly nothing negative to say here, you won’t regret ordering!!!

Was craving for some Nepali daal bhat and tried their Thakali Bhojan chicken set. It was nothing less than phenomenal, the Nepali taste, flavors were there, and all the spices right on point. Should definitely try out this place. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
