As someone who has long appreciated the depth and richness of Indian cuisine, I approached this newly opened Nepali restaurant with genuine curiosity. For a first visit, I chose the Nepali thali — the traditional national set — as it offers the most comprehensive introduction to the cuisine.
The thali arrives as a thoughtfully arranged assortment on a metal tray, each component distinct yet harmonious. What immediately stood out was the flavor profile of the curries. Unlike the cream-forward, deeply spiced gravies often associated with Indian cooking, the Nepali curries leaned noticeably tangy.
The chicken curry, in particular, carried a pronounced sour note — likely from yogurt or citrus — which added brightness and lift. The acidity felt intentional and characteristic, giving the dish a refreshing clarity rather than the heavier richness one might expect from neighboring cuisines.
I also ordered naan separately from the thali. It is prepared fresh to order, which requires a bit of patience, but the result justifies the wait. The bread arrived warm, with a pleasantly chewy, elastic texture and a satisfying bite — substantial without being dense. Its simplicity provided an excellent counterpoint to the tangy curries.

Delicious authentic Indian and Napali dishes. The Chicken Tandoori, Chicken Sekwa are amazing. You pick your level of spice from 1-6. We chose 3 and it was perfect. Our appetizer was Aloo Chop with a chutney sauce. Gulap Jamun was a lovely touch to end out meal. Chef’s kiss

Absolutely loved everything about Himalayan Grill! The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. Every dish we tried was amazing — you can truly taste the authenticity. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. Portions were generous and worth every penny. Highly recommend if you’re in Dayton and craving authentic Nepali & Indian cuisine. We will definitely be back!

As a nepalese living in the United States, I was craving Nepali food so much, and randomly I was scrolling through Uber and suddenly I saw Himalayan Grill. I was craving Momo and I ordered it and the food was literally so delicious. It made me feel like as if I was eating in a local Nepalese restaurant as it was giving that authentic taste of the Nepalese food food delivery service the achar everything was so good so perfect and everything was just spot on. Except for the Delivery you guys could have used paper boxes instead of plastic bags. But that is not the main concern the main concern as the food was so so so good this time I ordered it online the next week. I’m visiting this restaurant in person. Everyone should just visit it if you want to try it then the Nepalese taste food.

Owner and staff absolutely friendly, helpful, and just very nice. We never had Hymalayan food before and she explained it all and have is free samples of some dishes they have. Great experience.
