My wife and I came out on a whim as us and another couple had planned a dinner but due to the weather did not want to travel as far as we initially wanted to.
We found great reviews and great photos with a unique ethnic style of food close to home.
We were greeted by very welcoming staff from the moment we walked in. They seated us and thanked us for coming in.
All of the staff were prompt to assist us with all of our drink orders as well as appetizers.
We were not rushed, and also were not waiting to order when needed as the staff were closeby with us never leaving their sight.
The food was delicious, a unique style of food we have experienced similar to, but nonetheless like other food we have not experienced. My wife and I have never had Himalayan/Nepalese cuisine until this location.
From the appetizers to the entrees, everything was full of flavor, and all of us were filled with the food.
We tried desserts and tried also unique desserts which satisfied our post dinner cravings.
Needless to say we will be coming back, and I strongly recommend if you are willing to travel or in the area, check it out.
Most consistent positive experience from all areas I’ve experienced in a long time.

The staff here is incredibly friendly, and the food is outstanding from start to finish. The appetizers, entrées, and desserts were all top-notch. I had the seafood curry, and it was packed with flavor—absolutely delicious. We will 100% be coming back. This place genuinely makes me want to travel to Nepal!
p.s Dumplings were amazing!

I had a rough experience at Himalaya Sono a while back. I placed an order, waited about half an hour, and then was told the item was out of stock when I arrived. At the time I felt they could have either not taken the order or at least called to let me know. I left frustrated. Today was the complete opposite. I ordered a kulfi to go and they packed it so carefully in a 32oz container with plenty of ice so it would not melt. It might seem small but it showed real attention and care for the customer. That level of thought makes a big difference. On top of that, the lady and gentleman at the counter greeted me with such a warm and genuine smile. It honestly lifted my mood. Talking about other item which was chicken steamed momo it was just good, as an indian i love authentic nepali momo and this momo didn’t really taster the same like we get in nepal. However Great turnaround and great service. Keep it up.

experience!
My kids loved the chicken momos, and the fried veggie noodles – absolutely loved it!
My parents enjoyed their food – chicken curry, chicken korma, and aloo chop – everything came with a variety of sauces and dips – be sure to try a variety of apps!
The owner, Sherpa, is a very nice and cool guy – and we wish him much success with this new location in SONO!

Tried for the first time recently and already can’t wait to go back! I went with 3 other people and we all really enjoyed what we got. I’m a fan of korma dishes so I tried the Himalayan korma and it was amazing!! Super loaded up with veggies and meat and the sauce was just divine. The seafood sizzler was a sleeper hit with great flavor. The veggie biryani and the nepali thali were also amazing. You get a lot of food in each dish so make sure you come hungry!! Naan was super fresh and flavorful, and the Himalayan naan was a new and unique flavor to me! Def recommend trying it it 🙂
There are also so many vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options which is amazing!! On top of that, they have live music on the weekends and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back and try more things 🙂

Arrived thirty minutes before closing for lunch as we drove there directly from Newark Airport. Wonderful menu with many offerings. Our dishes were delicious. Our servers were excellent and didn’t rush us as we were still eating after closing. Would definitely return if we’re in town from Florida.

Such a gem in SoNo! Not only were the food and drinks delicious, but the staff was incredibly accommodating. We had made a reservation and got stuck in some traffic, knowing that Himalaya closes for a mid-day break at 3:30. We managed to get there before they closed but were still dining during the break, as was one other group, and they didn’t make us feel rushed or forgotten about. Truly a level of service you don’t see too often anymore! The momo set was delicious, and we enjoyed the sauces to pair with them. Great drinks as well, and the seafood sizzler was a generous portion. The dining room was beautiful, and they had a nice outdoor area as well. We can’t wait to come back and try more of their menu!

Great evening, food had so great of a taste, and definitely authentic. Sauces was amazing as well (hot sauce was on point) I would recommend this restaurant to go to. I was honored to meet the chef and by his great atmosphere, I Knew he can make great meals. Please!! The word about this restaurant needs to go out around the town of Norwalk. The sake Martini was amazing and the music was a clam vibe. Please when I mean ” don’t walk, run” go and visit you will love it

We’re local Norwalk residents so we decided to try the recently opened Himalayan Sono and wow, they did not disappoint. Anthony (owner) and Mohan (waiter) were very attentive, friendly and helpful with introducing us to their menu. The restaurant had a nice open space for indoor or outdoor dining, live music on Saturday evening that had casual cool vibe. The food, cocktails and service were absolutely amazing !! Cocktails weren’t watered down like other places. We wanted strong drinks and that’s what they gave us. The chicken dumplings and sauce were outstanding. We’re glad we dined here and are planning to come back for more. We highly recommend Himalayan Sono.

We’re local Norwalk residents and decided to try this restaurant after passing by several times. The food is amazing here!! The dumplings were some of the best I’ve had. So much flavor. The garlic naan was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Especially dipping it in the Lamb Korma sauce I got with my meal. Nice size portions too. I had enough to take home for another meal. It’s a beautiful restaurant with attentive and kind staff. The owner was sweet. He came to our table to ask how our dinner was and told us about the live music they have on the weekends. Go check it out. You won’t be disappointed.
