Very good authentic taste.
They serve two type of thali ,one is with limited quality which can be shared and other one is unlimited which can not be shared .
We order for sharing tali. There are rice with five type of curry and one local sweet. All food is without garlic onion and no roti.
Taste was awasome and authentic.
Location is tricky – it’s on mall road but slightly in side.
On the mall road there is Puma showroom, you have to take down stairs just asking to this showroom and then left hand side it’s fifth shop.

Himachali Rasoi – Place where you get authentic Himachali cuisine

We started our meal with their power sidu, both sweet and savory ones. They were served streaming hot with ghee. Enjoyed it a lot

Highlight was their thali, it was like a burst of flavours which everyone should try once in their lifetime

Totally worth it, will definitely visit again if am in shimla

Food is good and the ambience is pleasant. One thing worth mentioning is that due to limited tables the owner sometimes asks guests to share tables even if you are willing to wait. This is understandable during rush hours and because of the small space but at times people may prefer some privacy while eating.

Himachali Rasoi in Shimla is a cozy eatery offering authentic local flavors and a true home-cooked experience. Known for its traditional Himachali thalis, sidu and babroo, every dish is simple yet full of flavor. With limited seating and a warm, homely vibe, it’s the perfect spot to savor genuine Himachali cuisine in an authentic, no-frills setting at very affordable prices.

This pure vegetarian spot is perfect for native Himachali food. We tried patande and siddu- both freshly made and tasty. Highly recommend if you’re craving genuine local cuisine!

Being a South Indian, I wanted to try authentic Himachali food in Shimla. After going through multiple reviews and recommendations from friends, I decided to try their thali meals. The staff was very welcoming, cordial, and helpful. They even helped us in choosing the right thali. The food was really good and offered a unique taste.
The place might find a bit tricky to find and might even seem small for a restaurant. But everything is neat and clean with a good ambience and lighting.

Note: South Indians might find the rice and curries a bit different from what we’re used to, but it’s definitely worth a try for the experience.

Tried the Himachali thali at Himachali Rasoi in Shimla. The food tasted fresh with a noticeable clove flavor. There are two options: half (₹233) and full (₹333). The full thali includes unlimited refills, but the half doesn’t, and the portion felt a bit small for the price. Sharing isn’t allowed. Overall, slightly pricey but the taste and quality were really good.”
