Our server was quick and friendly. The salad bar was fresh and was the best part. The atmosphere was great small talk at the various tables and a great over all vibe. The older decor gave so sort of a comfort feel. Recommend if you are in the area. We went around 4pm on a Saturday and it wasn’t busy at all almost like a family gathering.

Went last night for the first time as a birthday dinner from my daughter and son in law. Made a reservation early in the day for 5:15, arrived at 5:10. We were not greeted for 5 minutes, and once approached, the server had no idea of reservation or where to seat us. Once sat and given menus and water orders for the 4 people in our group, we waited another 15 minutes before the server came to our table. I will add we were the second table sat in an empty room. We ordered and patiently waited for 1 HOUR before the server came to every single table, in a now full dining room, saying the POS system wasn’t working and that she wrote the orders for the kitchen to start making. After an hour. We patiently waited, along with the tables that came in immediately after us, to watch an entire room receive their meals after being there for 20 minutes. I addressed the issue with the server with it now being an hour and a half, and said they have 15 more minutes or we will leave. An hour and 50 minutes and still nothing. We left without food and will not attempt to try again.

Sooooo much food for the price! It was so good! Our server was very nice & very attentive. Just a heads up, the brain “sliders” are the size of a regular sandwich, the jumbo one is the size of a plate! So good!***went back again, hubs got the jumbo brain Sammy & ate part before I got a pic lol. It’s HUGE! Liver & gizzards were AMAZING!

Such a cool place to eat. One of the oldest restaurants in the state of Indiana. Home of the brain sandwich. But, if that isn’t your cup of tea there is a selection of German food and local favorites. I had the barbecue baked potato with Marx’s BBQ on it. Best thing ever! Some of the best fried chicken around.

Plenty of food, we took half of our cod fish dinner home, enough for another meal. So far we had their Chicken and dumplings and cod fish both very tasty. We will go back again. If we get the cod we will share.

I had gotten many suggestions that it was a great place to go for a brain sandwich.So I finally went. Sat there for 20 minutes.Bartender was at the end of the day bar talking to someone totally ignored me. , and finally, I waved down a waitress to get a menu. She served me my drink, and then it took another 20 minutes to get my order in. food arrived pretty fast, but it was very bland. Maybe I just caught them on and off day, but I wasn’t impressed. Definitely not with the service, not with the sandwich either. For that price I paid.I don’t know that I will try it again. Beautiful sandwich, no sides, no flavor.

Great food and service. My family has been dining at Hilltop for as long as I can remember and they continue to be our pick for comfort food and Evansville specialties. Photos here are the fried chicken livers with white gravy, sweet & sour cole slaw and mashed taters. Also pictured a pork tenderloin with seasoned fries. Service was friendly and attentive. Pricing very reasonable. GO THERE!

The experience this restaurant just keeps getting better and better. After a short closure and a very slight remodel the atmosphere here is the same but with a little bit of a brighter feel. The food is always was excellent the photos that I posted or the brain sandwich and the pork balls. This was the first time I’ve had the pork balls I highly recommend them as well as the cheese cubes which now come and cheddar or pepper jack. The staff here was excellent and friendly and very helpful. I cannot recommend this place enough one of the awesome hidden gems here in Evansville.
