Now named Danny’s Deli, this place is pretty good! They have excellent food and the service is fantastic. I went there for take out on 10/26/21. My son loves their Margarita Eggplant Pizza. Though he wasn’t very happy that pizza sold out earlier, he did enjoy a slice of the Cheese pizza and said it was “AMAZING”!
I ordered a sandwich. It was not made the way I asked, but with a toaster oven home I was able to crisp up the hero roll and it was also very good!
Give them a chance. They bought the Hilltop and are trying to keep up with the same menu offered by Hilltop. The place is clean and we’ll kept. Hopefully this place will become a fav, as much as we all liked the former. Around here the Hilltop deli was a staple in our New City neighborhood. Let’s help make Danny’s the same.

I have been going to this deli for the past 30 years and it was always a great local deli with fresh food and products. Recently, new owners have taken over and it is a total disappointment. They have a taken a neighborhood deli and turned it into a no frills convenience store with a horrible looking steam table with dry food and poor quality food. I gave them a chance numerous times, getting breakfast and lunch. I wouldn’t mind the higher prices they have now, but the quality has gone down so much that now it’s just a ripoff. I have noticed that they stopped using quality products and ingredients, but I still used them since they are local and I guess i was used to going there. Today they lost me as a customer for good. I went in to get a sandwich for lunch and observed staff pull out a dry roll that almost crumbled in his hand when he cut it and opened a container and took out precut meat for my sandwich. PRECUT, is this a Subway franchise? My lunch was a total disaster. Like I said earlier, the owners have made it into a convenience store and don’t care about customers coming back. This customer won’t!!!

It’s a shame that the original owners sold the deli. They actually knew how to run a good deli. The new owners have no clue what they’re doing. When I was a kid and the original deli was there, if you ordered a hero, they’d get your order right the first time and they’d pack your hero full. These days, they can barely get an order right and they skimp on what they give you. On top of that, everything is over priced.

This place has been around for 50 years, and for good reason. Family owned and operated. Great sandwiches, pizza, salads, hot foods, coffee. Personally been going here for over 35 years. Fast and friendly service for amazing deli and pizza.

My family has been going to this terrific family-run pizza / deli for over 20 years. It’s a wonderful lunch deli with hot entrees on weekdays in addition to great deli sandwiches . They also make pizza that will rival any Italian restaurant. Be sure to try a white slice or their round sicilian . They also do party catering, which comes with all the trimmings. After you come here a couple times they will know your name and your order like you were one of the family !

Slow expensive and less than mediocre food. I decided to try hilltop for a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. I came in ordered a sausage egg and cheese , and watched the guy write a down. I got my coffee pretty quickly, paid for my meal and was waiting for the sandwich. After waiting for about 10 minutes I inquired when the sandwich would be ready. I was told shortly after waiting another 10 minutes, I was already late for work and ready to run out with nothing. At that point a guy came out with a bacon egg and cheese And when I said I ordered a sausage and egg and I was told “ahh so”. The sandwich was mediocre at best there was one strip of bacon for the whole roll and I would say less than a single egg.This was the 1st and the last time I will be in hilltop

I Have been going to this deli for over a year, food was always great, the staff were never inconsiderate but then again never friendly, went in today to order a chicken parmeasean hero, the guy gave me an really bad attitude when I ordered, then I asked how much the cost was, and was met with more attitude. So I told him forget it, and left, I have been a customer of this establishment for well over a year and for the staff to be so rude and inconsiderate is very disappointing, I will not be going back to this deli, if you want a good deli to go to where the staff will treat you with respect use the extra couple minutes and drive down into new city right down the hill.

The owners need to invest in a counterfeit pen because I used a 20 that has been in the wallet and washing machine many times, I was so embarrassed when she suggested I leave my number if there are problems with the $20 bill.
Other than that my old man and I enjoyed our sandwiches.
Please get lite mayo, less sugary/salty snacks, and a conterfeit pen.
