The pastrami sandwich is a sad excuse for a sandwich, especially coming from a diner. Maybe 2 slices of pastrami. Definitely different from their photo on the menu. I’ve been going here for years with no issue and enjoyed the typical diner food. This though, this is really really sad.

This is an official old school jersey diner. Very old school ambiance, pretty clean too. Nice staff with friendly service.
The food wasn’t bad. Nothing super special. The cheese steak was pretty basic, the onion soup was very salty. But the bacon, eggs and home fries were pretty good. The salad didn’t move me either. But nonetheless I’m not mad about my visit here and would return again. If I could, I’d give them a 3.5, because again the service was very good!!

Tried Chicken Gyro and Mixed Burger with Sweet Potato Fries, and they were both delicious. Our server Ingee was polite and professional, and the food was enjoyable. I will definitely come back.

Hillsborough Star Diner is always consistent and welcoming. The food comes out fresh and hot, portions are generous, and the menu has something for everyone. The staff is attentive and professional, and the place is clean and well organized. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, they deliver quality every time. Highly recommend.

I had a “Bad Burger” @ Star Diner on 11/13/25. I should have known it was very much precooked when Swiss Burger came to our table closer to 5 (rather than 10 or 15) minutes from time it was ordered. Tasted like combination of metallic & some kind of cleaning aroma when bitten into it, cause fries tasted a bit of same cleaning fluid.
I only tried it for a couple of bites and said to myself “no mas”. “The coffee was good” when cashier asked “how was everything?”. I’m not one to stomp my feet & complain about the poor product, I just will never return. Staff seems very good but if they ever wonder why business is “off” all they need do is open kitchen doors.
