My visit was very hopeful of getting some good bar-b-que. I am from Texas, where Bar-B-Que is a way of life. So I like to try the different styles of Bar-B-Que from different areas of the country. But what we take pride in more than Bar-B-Que is our friendly, hospitality service.
Unfortunately, that’s not what I received before I ever taste the food the service attitude was sour by the lady working the window. When I got the food the order was wrong probably because she was so focused on her sarcastic responses to my general questions. May have been upset about working on the fourth of July.
Now the food. I ordered two pork sandwiches and a sausage sandwich. I asked for extra sauce and she said it’s on the sandwich. The sausage had no sauce. I had to go back to the window to request more sauce and this irritated her even more. The sausage sandwich was okay but the pulled pork tasted a little sour. Must have got some of the service attitude on it. I prayed for my attitude in response to her attitude, which I normally try to be an encourager.

My husband and I decided we wanted to try something different for dinner tonight, so we went to Hillbilly’s BBQ and we loved it! I got the half chicken with the Hillbilly beans and coleslaw. The beans were amazing the chicken was so moiste and tender. Very delicious and the coleslaw reminded me of KFC. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich with two sides he also got the Hillbilly beans and he got potato salad it was so good! The meat was so flavorful and the prices were not too high either. Both our meals with drinks was under $20 so I left the rest for a tip for the great service. We will definitely be back 🙂

Ok, not great. The pork was a little dry and the sauce was strange. Almost a citrus taste or something. If you don’t like it though, there aren’t any more options….they have mild and hot. The lady that took our order was kind of friendly but also seemed annoyed. I’m not sure if she was annoyed at us or just in general, but she didn’t seem very happy we were there.

LOVE IT!!! My husband and I are from out of town and we’re camping down the road. We was curious about this place and it’s so good with very nice and friendly staff!! I got the BBQ potato and he got the pulled chicken sandwich. We also got snocones that was amazing!!

Food is lame to average, and I’m not one to complain. Even if the food was worth eating I recommend supporting another one of Dover’s many locally owned restaurant/food options. This one is of poor character.
