Hillbillies Bar in West La Crosse, Wisconsin, has a solid menu and a laid-back atmosphere. My buddy and I tried the chili cheese dogs and the Josh burger. The chili cheese dogs tasted good, though the bread wasn’t as fresh as it could’ve been. The Josh burger had great beef and a fantastic grilled bun, but it was a little on the bland side. What really stood out was the service — Josh, the bartender, was super attentive, and our beers never went empty. Overall, a good experience — I’d give it a 4 out of 5!

It’s a great neighborhood food/drink establishment. It’s a super clean place to eat, with a hard-working bartender and kitchen crew. I ordered a taco pizza and it hit every note of delicious! Daily specials. Handicap friendly.

It was OK. Hillbillies only served fried American food, it was nothing green on the menu. It was a typical bar with no view, on an ugly street. Good service and affordable.

The only reason I give it a 4 is there is no tap beer and no pint glasses. I got served with plastic cups. But the chili cheese dog and sweet potatoe fries are awesome!!! The bar is so clean and nice. It’s totally worth a stop!

We ate like Hillbilly royalty! Cordon Bleu balls appetizer was super yummy, fish fry was ON POINT and cocktails were made like I was at home. Bartender and servers were incredibly attentive. Everything about this place was awesome. We’ll definitely be back. With love from Milwaukee ❤️

We were told to come early for Friday Night Fish and we are glad we did! This is a traditional LOCAL tavern that makes Wisconsin famous. Friendly, clean, and reasonably priced. Loved it and do recommend.

The food and service are excellent at this neighborhood, north side bar and grill. Great Friday night fish fry, very light batter not greasy at all with a nice creamy coalsaw. They have other specials during the week. Promt service with a busy bar. Drink prices are very reasonable. Very clean and well kept. This was not my first time here, and it won’t be my last time! I was so hungry that I forgot to take any pictures. Next time!
