We ordered the chicken fried steak sandwich and meal. The sandwich came with one side and we country fried potatoes (lunch potatoes ) and the meal came with two sides so we ordered mashed potatoes and fried okra.
The sandwich came with fresh lettuce, pickles and onion.
The Texas toast was amazing so I asked for an extra side of their creamy gravy!
Our drink orders were taken at seating. My Coke came in a room temperature can, so when it was poured, it became watered down and flat. Had it been cold, this could have been avoided.
We ordered the fried mushrooms as an appetizer. They were huge, and a highlight of the meal. The generous portion could easily make a meal for those with a smaller appetite. Next visit I will try the sampler appetizer with the fried green tomatoes.
My friends shared a chicken fried steak, a garden salad, and the fried okra. The steak was generous and was well prepared. The sides were nicely prepared.
I ordered the fried pork chop, which includes two chops. They were tender and juicy. I ordered the black eyed peas. They were good, but the serving was more of the juice than peas, and they had a hint of a (vinegary?) tang which tasted a bit “off”. My country fried potatoes were great, with crispy edges and creamy centers. Could have used a bit more onion, but that is a personal preference.
The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was homey. Will visit again and plan to sample dessert and a bar offering.
Overall, a very pleasant experience.
Once we sat down, drinks came out in about five minutes, and we were ready to order. I asked our waiter if the chicken fried steak was really as good as advertised, and he said, “I don’t like chicken fried steak, so I’m not the person to ask.” We had a good laugh and both ordered it anyway.
When the food came out, it looked good, but that’s where it peaked. The chicken fried steak had zero seasoning. The crust was nice, but we had to douse it in salt just to give it any flavor. And the gravy? I know Ken’s gravy when I see it. I didn’t ask, but based on the Google reviews, I expected everything to be homemade. That gravy was not homemade. I don’t know who’s been calling this the world’s best chicken fried steak, but I feel sorry for them if they think that’s as good as it gets.
The black-eyed peas had an odd taste I couldn’t place. The country potatoes, though, were genuinely great. Flavorful, well-seasoned, could’ve been cooked a touch longer to crisp up, but easily the best thing on the plate.
Overall, I’d give it a 3 out of 5. I travel a lot and this is the first time I’ve left a negative review anywhere.
But if you’re going to claim you have the world’s best chicken fried steak, you better at least come close.
We cross the country delivery cars and trucks and we eat everywhere and everything. This food was really enjoyable, we will be back

Has wonderful merchandise, decor, and beautiful dessert.
We ordered the Quick Breakfast and the Omelet with Pancakes. We completely devoured the food. A food coma was in our near future.

Also had the Texas Sized Mimosa, as I was there for breakfast. Everything was great! Very well priced and they have tap to pay.
