⭐️ Great Lunch Stop on the Way to San Antonio
Passing through from Fredericksburg to San Antonio, I spotted Hilda’s and decided to stop for lunch — great choice. The restaurant is spacious, bright, and very clean, with plenty of seating and a huge parking area right at the entrance.
I ordered the chicken fajita plate, which came with rice, refried beans, fresh veggies, and warm tortillas. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and homemade. The chips and salsa were a nice bonus, and the staff kept the place welcoming and comfortable.
A solid stop if you’re driving through the Hill Country and want a tasty, no-nonsense Mexican meal. Recommended!

Classic Mexican options! Enjoyed our plates and a relaxed dinner with a drink. Ginger beer was worth trying and didn’t disappoint! Could’ve had another water refill- as my green enchiladas had a bit of a kick – but looked like one sever working in our area. Thanks would recommend – and will come again!

I’ve been to Hilda’s a few times and it’s always been a good experience. I was excited to go because of the outdoor patio area, though it would be great because of the nice weather. The patio is awesome, they did a great job on the addition. The atmosphere looks great and was expecting to spend some time and money on my girlfriend having dinner and a few drinks. That was cut short by the “wet sock” of a waiter we got. ZERO personality, no smile, acted like he hates his job and put a huge damper on our evening. He never smiled or looked us in the eye, definitely didn’t make us feel welcome or comfortable. This was 10-31-25 at 4pm, the place wasn’t even busy and he made us so uncomfortable that we ate and left to find somewhere to enjoy the evening. He was wearing a South Park sweater and had dark curly hair. I don’t think he’s ever been trained as a waiter because he left dirty dishes at all the tables he waited on, left paper trash and napkins on the floor… Too bad, Hilda’s spent all that money on the renovation and let their staff cost them money… good luck!

Make sure you take note of the price increase on their items. No notice from staff and no paper posted. My entree was 8.99 and was charged 11.99.
Service was slow for brunch time.
The restaurant wants even half way full.
First time here and may be the last.

Our first time to eat here!!! We went because we heard they were going to have live music with Corey Weaver on the patio. It was a beautiful night. The food was very good. I especially liked their chips and hot sauce. My husband had a cheesy burrito and I had some beef and chicken nachos with lots of cheese. We will definitely eat here again and be looking forward to more live music on the weekends

Indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor bar available. Friendly service. Huge portions. I had the shredded chicken nachos which were good, but the chicken lacked some flavor. My husband had the fajita chicken quesadilla and stated it was good.

Great experience, food and hospitality. Me and my husband were greeted at the door and were helped very quickly. We got our order placed in a quick amount of time and also got out food In a very fast time as well. Would definitely recommend coming here if you’re ever in the mood for great Mexican food!

This review is long overdue! We have been frequenting Hilda’s for about a year now. The breakfast is my favorite meal for sure, the huevos divorciados is my fave! The hubby usually gets barbacoa and the taco is really the size of a burrito, so one is plenty. We have now had dinner a few times, crispy tacos were good, the gordita takes a knife and fork to eat and had flavorful shredded chicken. This last go round I had the fish tacos, they were nothing spectacular but not bad either. Husband had the carne asada tacos and loved them! The chips, salsa and tortillas are really THE STARS of this place! We always get an order of these to go, do not skip out!

We visit the area every few months, but this is our first time visiting Hilda’s…. and it won’t be our last. We are so glad we found this place. Service was wonderful. Food is really good, and the portion sizes are very large. We really enjoyed our breakfast. Will definitely be back on our next visit to Fredericksburg.

Very good food….Chicken Tortilla Soup. Plenty of chicken and good flavor and the “cup” was really enough for my lunch.
The beef enchilladas were good, beans were good.
Service was OK, but we did have to flag the waitress down a couple of times. We were there mid afternoon, so she wasn’t busy with other customers.
Atmosphere….just a small place on the south side of Fredericksburg….it was clean.
A decent value given the quality of food . We will go back when we are in the area.
