Went today for their soft opening and the food was amazing! I ordered two bistec tacos, a pollo asada quesadilla, and a bistec quesadilla. The tortillas were absolutely delicious hands down the best I’ve had in the area. I shared everything with some of my coworkers and everyone loved it. You can really tell they took the time to perfect their craft, and the service was great as well. Will definitely be back!

Thank you. Finally a place in the county that knows what they are doing. Usually there is no balance between quality price and portion. Sometimes I don’t mind paying extra but give me enough food.
This place hits a home run. Not sure why there is not a line here daily or maybe there is and we just came at an odd time. We don’t eat out often because most places don’t deliver (not delivery but good food) but Hikos del Mai’s is a great place to eat. I rate places if they are good enough to come back to and this place wins my vote.
If you’re on the fence about eating here don’t be. Great food. Great people. Great quality. Thank you!

Tried three tacos. Fresh made. A 20 minute wait as we just dropped by.
Excellent. Worth the wait.

Been wanting to check out Hijos del Maiz ever since I heard they make their tortillas fresh to order—and it absolutely lives up to the hype. I ordered the 3-taco plate with bistec and barbacoa, and the difference fresh tortillas make is unreal. Soft, meaty tacos bursting with flavor and perfectly seasoned.
The real star is the corn tortilla. You can taste the deep, rich corn flavor in every bite. It was so good I had to order another plate, this time all barbacoa. Hands down my new go-to spot for tacos.

So fresh and delicious! I ordered the quesadillas, got one bistec and one beef barbacoa. The tortillas were so yummy and both the bistec and barbacoa were good. I think I prefer the bistec. The spicy onions went perfectly with the richness of the cheese. Can’t wait to come back for a torta or tacos.

SO GOOD!!! I ordered online for pickup and my food was ready fast (If anything, I was late). I got a bistec quesadilla and a carnitas taco. The tortilla on both was soft and delicious and the filling for both was so well seasoned! My only downside was the bistec was a little too fatty for my preference but that could be just me. I loved the pickled onions and the crema side and my only suggestion would be to pack the crema outside the box since it warmed up from the food, but aside from that I’d definitely come again and try other menu items.
Note: They have limited parking directly next to the food truck but I had no issue walking over from Golfdom and they also don’t serve drinks but the Shell gas station sells some.

Amazing food truck!! The quesadillas were absolutely delicious. I was so impressed to learn that the tortillas are made from real imported corn from different regions of Mexico — that’s what gives them their beautiful natural colors. You can really taste the quality. Highly recommend!
