We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress was attentive and helped us make our food and drink selections. We dined with another couple and everyone chose a different entree and sampled all. We ordered the club sandwich, fish and chips, shrimp and grits and the beef tips. All dishes were quickly brought out and all were delicious. I think the fish and the shrimp and grits were table favorites. The drinks were tasty as well.
We are so glad to have a nice place like this in Glasgow. It’s great for a date night with wonderful food, priced well and a great atmosphere. We will be back soon.
I loved my bourbon mule cocktail and the atmosphere was quite charming.
Would definitely recommend
I came from Bowling Green to meet a couple girlfriends who live in Glasgow. It seemed to be rather busy for a Saturday night, and the server told us first they’re out of French fries. No big deal, we don’t need fries. One of my friends has a gluten allergy, and the server was very careful with her order, making sure that her garlic toast would not be included. My 3 friends ordered shrimp & grits, and I ordered the Zucchini Noodles. Three of us still expected garlic bread. Two of the shrimp & grits came out with hardly any cheese, no bread. The third shrimp & grits came out with huge clumps of cheddar cheese & piled high with Parmesan, no bread. We thought it was strange that 2/3 dishes were made differently than the third. My zucchini noodles was just sliced thin, sautéed zucchini with a massive amount of minced, jarred garlic mixed in. Paid $4 extra for mushrooms which hardly had any. The flavor was so tart and garlicky, it wasn’t edible. I was expecting more of a mild pasta-like zoodle with garlic bread. My friends tasted to be sure I wasn’t wrong. The server then told us they’re also out of bread. We asked about spinach dip (no bread for that), mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts & desserts. She said they’re out of every one of those items. We were told we’d get a discount for not getting full meals, which was not a huge discount, but the server was trying her best.
No manager ever checked in, despite us seeing a manager checking on other tables. My discount was 25% off – I was told the owner wouldn’t go higher despite my dish not being edible and no alternative menu item to replace it. I ended up leaving hungry. We were wondering what other tables coming in after us were even ordering with so many items not available. Had they known upon opening they were out of fries, bread and simple Yukon potatoes, maybe a grocery store trip would’ve helped to make sure customers had options and were satisfied. Even one special dessert item could’ve been created for the night.
Overall, the atmosphere is lovely and our server did her best to help us through the meal. She was very kind, but we felt like the owners/managers left her in the dust. Not sure if we’ll be back; maybe after they figure out purchasing supplies but definitely didn’t feel like our business mattered.
Edited to add: the owner reached out to me to apologize. It seems it was their first night stepping away in a month (I’m sure they could use the night off!) so hopefully management can help sort through future issues when they are not present.
