It’s crazy though that I was literally reading the review posted right before mine and its 100% inaccurate.
My friend and I were seated next to this couple, and they were absolutely disrespectful to the staff.
The restaurant was on wait which is super typical for a Sunday brunch place. The couple and their kid were sat according to their wait time and the hostess moved on to calling the next few people.
As she was seating others the woman approached her demanding to be moved ASAP because she didn’t like her table. The girl tried to explain to her that if she was willing to wait a few more minutes for a different table then she could clean one off for her. This woman wasn’t hearing it, and neither was her partner. Dude literally got up and put his finger to his lips and told the staff member to shut up. How disrespectful then proceeded to cuss at them as he left the building because he was too impatient to wait a few minutes for a different table.
Crazy how people will abuse the power of google review.
It clearly had NOTHING to do with them being Hispanic, some of the staff members are Hispanic, like come on!
Anyhow after writing a book lol Highland Morning is great and you won’t regret the Banana Berry Blast!
Parking is horrible. I lucked out today and there was one parking space available in the small lot next door. Don’t know where else I could have parked. 30 minute drive each way, so having to turn around and leave because there is no parking would be very upsetting. Then getting out of the parking lot is truly a hazard. When there is a vehicle parked on the street directly next to the parking lot exit, you cannot see oncoming traffic from the left. At all. It’s very dangerous. Horrible location because of the parking issue.
I would like to like this place, but too many issues. My search continues for a good breakfast diner.
This was the most uncomfortable and disrespectful restaurant experiences we have ever had.
From the moment we walked in, the hostess acted as if she could not understand us, despite the fact that we were speaking clear English. The dismissive tone and body language were obvious.
After being seated, we politely asked if we could move to a different table that was not in the middle of the walkway. There were more than six empty tables available. We were told no, and that if we did not accept that specific table, we would have to put our name back on the waitlist and start over because “they don’t switch tables.” They also said we were not allowed to wait in the restaurant this time, we would have to wait outside or in our car. That explanation made absolutely no sense given the number of empty tables in plain view.
When we decided it was better to leave rather than argue, the situation escalated unnecessarily. Instead of handling it professionally, staff members became hostile and told us to just leave. One waitress even attempted to lift my child out of his chair. That was completely inappropriate and unacceptable.
As a Hispanic family, the way we were treated felt discriminatory and deeply disrespectful. We were made to feel unwelcome from the start.
Management seriously needs to address cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and basic customer service standards. No family should be treated this way for simply asking to move to another open table.
Never coming back and will advise the Hispanic community to stay away from this place.
