High Voltage Ice Creamery

Social Profile:

We’re more than an ice cream shop — we’re a place for families to make memories. At first glance, we serve great ice cream. But stay a little longer and you’ll notice the difference. Kids get excited choosing flavors, parents hear 90s & 2000s music playing and feel a wave of nostalgia, and everyone feels welcome. This is Not Just Ice Cream. It’s family nights that don’t feel rushed. It’s bold flavors, sticky fingers, and loud memories. It’s good music in the background and graffiti art on the walls. We’re a family-friendly space with a little edge — where kids can be kids, parents can relax, and the vibe makes you want to stay awhile.

Ice cream flavors looked promising, but after trying 3 times and 6 different flavors, we’ve decided it’s not for us. Every flavor we tried was overly salty. You couldn’t taste anything but the salt and whatever toppings you got.

The staff are very friendly, shop is clean, flavors look good! But we can’t get past the salt level. And the strange texture, it’s so…gooey. I’ve been to a lot of local, made in house creameries over the years and this is the first creamery that I’ve seen have this issue.

Took a family break tonight from business and stopped in for a treat! Family got all their favorites! Great staff and knowledgeable about all their products for recommendations. Strawberry with cotton candy sprinkles was the kids favorite. Must stop ice cream spot in all of SETX.

I got the defying gravity -mint with chocolate fudge brownie. This was our first time here. Was a little disappointed in it as it was pretty salty and no mint flavor. Husband got the brownie sundae and was good but the vanilla was salty as well. After looking at other reviews one from a week ago said they thought it was salty too. And no I don’t have health issues that let me taste the salt more like in the reply to them. Don’t come if you want sweet.

Highly recommend this place! Ice cream is delicious and made in house. I came with my picky toddler and he loved it too. I didn’t like that they had to preface with “it won’t taste like the big chains” totally unnecessary, their ice cream is great. I will say, I’m EXTREMELY lactose intolerant and after eating this ice cream I am not bent over in pain like I usually am. I’m also not bloated to the point of floating away which is a common occurrence when I eat ice cream. Don’t drive by this place, they let you try samples so just try them all and see what you like. I’ll keep coming and update accordingly.

This is not ice-cream, I’m not sure what this is but it’s not good.

The flavors are all weird names like they’re trying to be catchy, ok BUT put under that weird name what’s in the flavor ice-cream.

The semi-cold ‘dessert product’ is stretchy like gum, kind of slimy, very aerated like, not cold just cool, and has the weirdest texture like you have to chew it. Ricky road was bland and not very sweet, kind of bitter. It doesn’t melt at all like ice-cream, it stayed in a ball for 30 min with no melting happening in the store. I put it in my hot car as an experiment for another hour and finally got it to change shape but still not melt. It was $40 for 4 single scoops and 3 fountain drinks.

It reminds me of frozen pudding, weird like the old pudding pops and it doesn’t melt into a liquid again ever, no matter how long I left it in my car or house on the table. It smells like pudding like those snack packs. Photo at 30 min and video after 1 hour in my car. Another photo and video of it 24 hours later.

My husband and I both thought the ice cream was gummy and no flavor. My son didn’t eat his so I left it on my counter to melt before throwing out. The only problem is 24 hours it still didn’t melt. WTH is this lol I don’t see this place sticking around with the prices and chemicals that must be in it if it’s not melting. Actual pictures after sitting out for 2 days!!

I love this place, but I’m also addicted to sweets so could be biased. If you’ve never gotten the chocolate taco with the blue ice cream I recommended it. 10/10. All flavors I’ve tried are amazing, can’t go wrong with this place.

We came in around 930, and Joe and the other employee were so kind and patient with us. Joe explained the whole concept and we absolutely enjoyed trying all the unique flavors. Their ice cream is homemade every day, you can tell they put a lot of love into it. I think the price is fair considering the high quality. All of the flavors were different with a creamy and thick consistency. I loved their ice cream and would absolutely recommend. Really nice people and really good ice cream!
