AMAZING!!! GORGEOUS!!! RAVE REVIEWS!!
I just had my birthday party of 16 people at this place and I can’t recommend it more!!
I didn’t think a high tea would leave me stuffed full, but I got the full afternoon tea and nearly couldn’t finish it! Each of the items was really delicious and presented so pretty, they were out of a few desserts but swapped in doubles of the others and were super sweet about the whole process! DO NOT SKIP THE LEMON CURD!!!!
My teapot was never empty, the entire tea set and table setting were BLOW ME AWAY beautiful, I need to know where those key shaped spoons come from!!!
I wasn’t sure how the reservation would work with such a large group, but I was completely delighted to find that we were all seated at one long table! The food didn’t come out all at once, but how could it for 16 people!? It was paced extremely well and similar areas of the table got their items at similar times, so with the light bites and constant tea, there was never any awkwardness about people having food vs not 🙂
We got to meet the owner Melissa and she was a complete delight! It was so lovely to feel so personally welcomed to such a beautiful space.
We made our reservation about a month in advance for such a large group, but we will most certainly be back in smaller groups as well!! Such a unique, beautiful and fun experience.

High Tea GR was a pleasant experience. It is nice addition to Grand Rapids & is something fun to do with family, or your girlfriends. They had a variety of teas to chose from , I really enjoyed the Yorkshire and China Rose Tea. The atmosphere is nice & elegant & the tables are beautifully set. The food was tasty, I enjoyed the scones with the jam & butter. Service was good but it did take some time for a server to circle back to us and provide refills. I’m not the biggest fan of there pricing model. There isnt an option to just get tea, you have to order food. and even if you wanted to split a tower with someone, its a $19 surcharge on top of the $45 fee, with no additional food added. Things did feel expensive but note you are also paying for the experience as well. I think something is missing from the overall experience , maybe some history on classic tea time would be cool.

We loved our time at High Tea GR! The atmosphere was lovely, and the Christmas decorations were beautiful. I was surprised by how many choices of tea we were offered, and the food tasted wonderful! Our server, Sophia, was very attentive and answered all of our questions making it such a fun time. I would highly recommend and look forward to visiting again 🙂

Not Just for Tea—Excellent Lunch Options Too! ️☕

I was visiting family in town, and my sister—who’s been here several times—brought me and my nieces along to celebrate her birthday. I wasn’t sure what to expect, as I’m not usually into traditional tea service. The idea of sipping tea while nibbling on scones felt a bit outside my wheelhouse. But since they’d all been before and absolutely loved it, I was curious.

We were welcomed right away and shown to our seats. The décor is beautiful—warm, elegant, and inviting. You definitely feel like you’ve stepped into something special, even if you’re dressed casually (I was in tennis shoes, shorts, and a t-shirt with some kind of dog or Disney theme, most likely!).

Our server kindly walked us through the process. Admittedly, I felt a little overwhelmed at first, but I think that was more my brain getting ahead of itself. Once we got sorted, my sister and I each ordered the Afternoon Tea, which came with four savoury bites, one scone served with lemon curd, fruit preserves, and clotted cream, plus four desserts. It didn’t look like much initially, but it was absolutely satisfying!

My nieces ordered the Fairy Tea, which included two savouries and two sweets—perfect for younger kids.

There were plenty of tea options to choose from. I had one of the summer blends—peach or another fruit-forward choice I cannot remember—and it was lovely. I also tried the Hot Cinnamon tea, which had a cozy, spicy flavor I really enjoyed. I’d absolutely recommend it.

Since my sister had been here before, she also ordered the Cheese Toasties for the table to share. They were delicious and served with chips—definitely something I’d consider for lunch on their own next time. We also heard great reviews of the Scotch Egg and Shepherd’s Pie, so those are high on my list for a return visit.

The staff was friendly and attentive, the food was excellent, and we even had the chance to meet the owner, who was incredibly kind and welcoming. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, attending one of their themed events (my family went to the Harry Potter one last year and loved it), or simply stopping in for a quiet afternoon tea or a great lunch, this place is well worth a visit.

Super cute Victorian style tea spot. Spacious, clean atmosphere, friendly staff. Not to loud you can have a conversation.

We used High Tea Grand Rapids to cater a baby shower, and it was so nice! It was very easy to email the team and get set up with a couple trays of tea sandwiches and some scones with jam and cream. The food was all delicious, and the shower guests thought it was all very cute. Highly recommend working with them for catering! We swung by the tea room to pick up the food, and the inside is very cute and charming. Would love to come back sometime for the tea service!

High Tea Grand Rapids is a treasure in the community. They serve a great variety of teas and serve a delicious and filling high tea variety of savory sandwiches and sweet pastries. They are able to provide gluten free, requesting a week’s notice to prepare. The hot teas are steeped on your table and come in some very traditional caffeinated brews along with some house-prepared varieties. The caffeine free teas like the cinnamon offering pack a strong flavor punch. The chai is blended in house providing great flavor. The gluten-free bread and baked goods were above average, something that can be particularly challenging. Amy helped with our reservations and served us, providing fantastic helpful and personable service. Be sure to check out the owners personal collection of tea sets on display near the front door. We had been looking forward to coming hear with our of town guests and were very impressed with the service and quality of the food. As well, the decor reinforces the high tea experience. The Jane Austen theme, including quotes in the menu and books on the table, is a nice touch. Definitely worth a visit for a special occasion or very nice meal.

We were in last week Friday, it was really nice and we enjoyed ourselves. The experience is worth it in my opinion, tea was good, and they have a ton of different options. Experiencing the different savories and sweets was very nice, we did the afternoon tea menu. On your site it says there is a 18% gratitude charge added for 6 or more guest however we received this charge even though there was only 3 guest. I did not tip due to this extra charge but I hope that that 18% was given to the server because I personally would have gave her that tip anyway. The server was alone and did a very great job attending to all the guest who were coming in. I believe you guys should look at the 18% charge that is being added. We will definitely be back.

Visited on a Sunday at noon after making a reservation online.
Parking is a little tricky in this area.
We got there about 10 minutes early but were seated right away and out server Patricia explained the menu. We ordered two Fairy Teas and one Afternoon tea. The tea itself was lovely and the sparking lemonade was also wonderful.
My children had a great experience. The food was terrific, especially the cucumber dill sandwich. There was trouble at the end applying my deposit to the bill so tbe server gave us some photos props to play with. Overall, great experience and would definitely recommend.

Went there today. The sandwiches were on stale white bread with the crust only partially cut off. The clotted cream was grainy. The portions of clotted cream and jelly were small maybe 1.5 ounces. 50 cents more for lemon curd ridiculous! The tea was good. The scones were good but 25$ for 4 two inch scones! The price structure was horrible no sharing of the stacked tray or they will charge you 19$ a person! The waitress was sweet. The hostess was rude and for the price paid we should have been treated like royalty! My suggestion find somewhere else to go!
