My favorite bar in the Akron area. Friendly staff, chill environment, outstanding rotation of mixed special drinks on top of any of your usual favorite cocktails, which are likewise made well. They also have a great rotating stock of craft beers on tap. You can order food next door at Totally Baked and have them bring it to you (depending on operating hours) to enjoy right there.

Excellent cocktail and craft beer bar. Music is usually a 10/10. Bartenders are knowledgeable, friendly and good people. Depending on what day and time you go it can be busy and loud or not too busy and quiet. You can order food from Totally Baked Pizza and they will bring it to you over at the Hop House or Baxter’s. Atmosphere is cozy, like a place you’d like to hibernate in the winter.

Huge fan of High St. Hope House!! Such an awesome atmosphere and perfect place to just unwind and relax! They have so much on the menu and the fernet bottles up above the bar are all signed by people who completed them! It is a bar. On Wednesday nights they have a jazzy type funk sounding Open Mic type night headed by Smoke face AKA Cody Mansfield and open for the public to step in and play. A Very upbeat and laid back atmosphere and the people are fabulous. When you go tell them Jeff & Tammy sent you!! You will have a blast!!

With its unique design and solid drinks, High St Hop House is over if my favorite bars in downtown Akron. The bar itself isn’t huge, but it’s beautifully decorated – like I’d imagine a bar from the 1920s – and it’s immediately adjacent to an art gallery sitting area where they occasionally have live music as well. Walking thru the gallery, there’s a second bar at the back with curated wine selections. A unique space, good service, and a fine drink selection make this place a gem downtown.
