Excellent food. Huge portions. Great pricing. Friendly staff. Came around 4pm on Saturday. Not busy. About 5 tables but still took awhile for service. Business picked up after we were there. Waitress kept forgetting things we asked for. Don’t know if she is new to being a waitress but will chock it up to being newly opened. Will be back.

First time at the newly opened HighPoint Diner in East Brunswick NJ. Located on route 18 southbound, formerly the Seville diner. It took quite a few years for the diner to remember after covid shut the Seville down for good but it seems like it was worth the wait. It was a cold morning but upon entering We were greeted with the heat blowing gently, very nice. The young hostess was charming and we were seated right away. We got a booth by a window just as we had asked. It was around 930am when we arrived. The place started filling up too but plenty of seating was available, booths and tables for bigger groups. Quite a few families of 5 or more were able to find seating too. It did get loud, due to the wide ooen spacing I guess but wasnt too much. The atmosphere was very homie and casual. The neutral colors along with the beams on the ceiling and open layout made it feel comfy. We were met by a very nice server, she introduced herself and her trainee, also very nice. We ordered without delay. Our drinks and coffee came quickly. I ordered pineapple juice, it was darker and a bit bitter than usual but still good. The coffee was hot and tasty, an 8 out of 10. I ordered eggs over easy, bacon, home fries and white toast, with a short stack of pancakes on the side….all the basics. It didnt take too long to come out and all the food was hot. Eggs cooked perfect, bacon crispy and not the thick slices like some diners serve. Toast was actually “toasted” not just warmed bread. We particularly enjoyed the home fries and pancakes. The home fries were served with peppers and onions mixed in. Not too much, just the right amount and make the potatoes very tasty. Pancakes can be hit or miss but these were some of the best around the area. Light and fluffy, with a nice golden brown to them. Made just right! Everything seemed to be made “just right”. The servers checked on us enough, not being overbearing. When finished we got our check right away and paid up front at the hostess station. All in all it was a very positive and friendly visit with tasty food. One possible negative would be the price, but that is subjective, we were good with it. Two egg plates, coffee, juice and a short stack, $52 included the tip. Use your judgement on that one. We will be back soon to try a lunch or dinner. Definitely our new “go to” diner in the area.

After reading some of these reviews, I wondered what type of experience I was going to have.
Our server, Maxine, was a delight. Very kind, very attentive, and there was no issues having our coffees refilled.
The space was beautiful and felt very open.
In regards to prices that I saw reviews complaining about. This is the price of stuff these days! Our omelettes were $16, which is comparative to every other breakfast place. The coffee was three dollars, which is also comparative or cheaper than other places.
Looking at all the other prices, this is what they are these days.
Support your new local business and give them time to work out kinks but we had a very nice breakfast, in a very beautiful space, with a very kind server.
If something is wrong with your food, speak up while you’re there and do not wait until you get home and write a bad review.
I will be returning.

I really wanted this to go well, we love our Jersey diners, and this replaced the old Seville diner. Walking in it’s very nice, new, clean, bright. Very friendly staff. Got a complimentary chick pea salad and bread when we sat. I ordered the veggie panini. Very disappointed. The smallest amount of zucchini & eggplant, maybe 2 slices of tomato, too many onions and hot bread. Last couple bites at the ends were just all bread. My companion got an omelette which looked good.
Another disappointment, was when I went to pay, the amount was different than what was on my bill. It happened that the soft drinks weren’t put on. So why didn’t the waitress just tell me that. We didn’t order more after the check came. I understand mistakes happen, but I feel it wasnt handled correctly. (Plus it was $12 more, I guess ur charging on those soft drinks refills.)
Overall my meal was disappointing, it was a bit pricey, and an error on their part wasn’t handled politely. But it’s a nice place. And other food was good.

The food was awesome, the service was great, and the atmosphere was great too. Reasonable prices for 2 coffees, 2 dishes, 1 app, and 1 fr onion soup came to 73 and 88 with the tip. We definitely will be back again.

Food was really good. Well priced for the portion size, you get. Someone was walking around often with a coffee pot for a refill’s. Took a little bit to get the food. But for how busy it was when we went thats understandable.

My husband and I went to check out the new diner and had a very pleasant breakfast. The new interior is much lighter and brighter than Seville used to be. The menu has a lot of diverse options. I was happy to see corned beef hash on the menu — it is one of my faves! We ordered a short stack of pancakes, and they were delicious! Fluffy, light, flavorful. I wish the coffee were a tad bit stronger and that they had a selection of bagels rather than just plain. We live near some of the best bagels in the country!! Have then available in the diner! Other than that, no complaints! And a very welcome business to keep the diner alive on that spot.
