High Hope Tavern is a cocktail bar and restaurant located in a beautiful space at 12 High Street in downtown Westerly, RI. Our bar and restaurant serves cocktails and food using ingredients from local farms, fishermen and all the bounty that Rhode Island has to offer. High Hope is brought to you by Endless Hospitality Group. We have worked hard to combine a modern philosophy of cooking and creativity with the romantic notion of the classic New England tavern. A place where customers both local and traveling can feel welcomed and comfortable while enjoying some of the best food and cocktails in South County.

It’s absolutely beautiful inside. The bartender was super friendly and we wanted to stay longer but only had time for a drink and some oysters. The dirty gin martini was perfect and his cocktail was too. The oysters were ready quickly and super clean and fresh. I cannot wait to come back and crush more of this amazing looking menu.

First time here and loved everything we ordered! Our menu highlights: local oysters, Caesar salad, mussels, eggplant burrata (with Nana’s sourdough!) and the steak entree. The inside of the restaurant is really cute, with lots of cool artwork and antiques. Didn’t make a reservation, but got there at 6:00 pm and snagged a table on a Saturday night.

A perfect restaurant. Everything from the ambiance to service was pure perfection. We loved the smash burger made with house ground beef and the fried grits were perfectly crunchy and creamy. High Hope changes their menu with the seasons so you can return again and again to try the chef’s newest creations!

Would have been great if the fireplace was working, as it was frosty outside. Service was great and staff very polite and helpful. My smash burger was delicious and there were just the right amount of fries, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Thank you for a great time while I was visiting Westerly! This was a last minute hunger stop, which turned out to be great. The food was amazing especially the griddle banana bread for desert. Our server Zack was great which made the experience much better. This will for sure be one of our go to restaurants when we return to this area.
