This is a nice bar and grill. Had the grilled cheese and chili special, tasty but not outstanding. I would give this place 4 1/2 stars.

We just enjoyed the Friday night fish special at the Hideaway. Everything about our meal was excellent. Great food, fast and excellent service, and wonderful atmosphere. Our waitress (Bailey) went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and was so pleasant. The owner (Wanda) made a special point to check with us to make sure we enjoyed our meal. That is great customer service!! We will definitely be back soon to try more menu items.

The pizza was amazing (I inhaled a couple pieces before remembering a pic)! And fantastic service. We were passing through looking for a place to catch the Vikings game and are so pleased we stopped. If we lived closer this would be our regular hang out.

So glad to have this casual place to relax and have a great bite to eat and beer. Friendly service and family run. Their burgers are wonderful and I love their hand battered cheese curds and hand battered shrimp. Pizza is a good choice, too!

Super cute place. They are still working on remodeling but I’m very happy with how it looks so far. The food was really good. I had the chicken tacos. It came with three of them and they were delicious. Drinks were very good as well. It was surprising busy for a Tuesday but I can see why.

As soon as you walk in, the wooden wall trim reminds you of a cabin or rustic bar up north and lets you know the place is warm and welcoming, and it also lets you know the place is a respectable kind of tavern. The owner was very amiable and hospitable with my questions. There are not beers on tap, but there is a refrigerator from which you can purchase bottles or cans to take with you.

In all honesty I wish I could give this place a zero, but I don’t have that capability. We had paid 91 dollars for nothing other than dog food, but honestly that is almost too generous because if I am being honest I wouldn’t even feed it to my rottweiler. It took a total of 1.5 hours to order, get our food, and only for the majority of it to be inedible. Some people got their food 30 mins before the others in our group. One person in our party had waited 45 mins for chicken strips, and had pulled multiple black hairs out. The brisket sandwich was straight fat. I had done the tug test with my fork and if I would’ve kept going it would have flown straight across the room. It wasn’t just my sandwich either, it was the sandwich for everyone in our group. The deep fried mushrooms came out frozen in the middle and there were only 6 of them in total. To top it all off the service was terrible. The waitress was quite entitled. In all honesty I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to this dump.

You can taste, and see that most of the food isn’t from scratch. The burger was steamed, it was gray and had no flavor. You can tell that the people cooking have no real cooking experience at all. The potatoes were between a mashed, and something else. It tasted like water. The burger tasted like water.

Ate here twice. To be fair we were there on opening day the 1st time. We ordered 2 pizzas, 1 was a cheese for our kids who will eat almost any pizza , this was the 1st time they’ve ever disliked a pizza. We got the supreme and it was ok. The other time we had a fish sandwich which was descent, a cheeseburger and fries. The fries were absolutely terrible & the cheeseburger was ok at best & tiny. I would have rather had a McDonald’s McDouble for 1.50. The prices are a little ridiculous for the portions and quality. If it was good I wouldn’t mind paying 10-15$ for a burger meal. But it’s not good at all. The cheese curds are probably the best thing we had there, they are ok at best also. You can get better cheese curds at about 10 places in winona still then those including fast food places like a&w and culvers. They also forgot to make 1 of my meals I got to go. I left & got home & 1 was missing. Went back and they were like oops. And I had to wait 30 mins for them to make it. Not to mention 5.75 for a can of nutrl . And I seen Kwik trip bags of buns through the kitchen door lol. Place is hilarious.
