Hickory Smokehouse in Northampton was an excellent experience from start to finish. As soon as we sat down, we were welcomed with complimentary popcorn, which was a fun and thoughtful touch. We ordered hot dogs along with a cup of joe and a Diet Coke, and everything hit the spot. The food was tasty, comforting, and very reasonably priced.
The service was great throughout our visit, friendly, attentive, and welcoming without feeling rushed. The decor was amazing, full of character and charm, and it really added to the overall atmosphere. The whole place had a relaxed, inviting vibe that made us want to stay awhile.
Between the great service, good prices, and enjoyable atmosphere, this is definitely a spot we can’t wait to go back to again. Highly recommend.

We visited Hickory’s Smokehouse on a Sunday afternoon making sure that we had prebooked a table which turned out to be a good Idea as the restaurant was extremely busy.
On entering our table had been prepared and was ready for us to occupy and got some complimentary popcorn.
Having looked at the menu drinks and a couple of starters we’re ordered.
The drinks arrived fairly quickly and soon after the starters appeared.
Our mains probably took another 20 minutes before arriving at the table.
Memphis style baby back ribs , Oklahom smash burger with mac & cheese and Southern fried chicken burger.
They were well presented and both burgers were very tasty, unfortunately the ribs were hard in places.
Please be aware that there is a discretionary 7.5% service charge added to you bill.

Friday evening we came for the first time to hickorys smokehouse Northampton what can I say about the place. We came in and got a great welcome. The service was on point and done with a smile and they was very helpful to us. The place is very big and very clean. Atmosphere was great very busy but not to loud. The food was so good and big we was getting full so after we finished we sat in the cinema room just to relax. Just a great evening see you all again soon. Good times.

Having been one of the lucky ones to sample Hickory’s before they officially open to the general public, I must say it is as good as I was expecting it to be.
We attended the brunch event, the brunch menu is small but it doesn’t make it any easier to decide what to have as everything sounds amazing.
I personally settled on steak and eggs – I believe for place like this steak should be a flagship menu item. It was cooked to perfection, eggs were lovely- the whole plate was 5⭐
We visited as a group, we also had American breakfast – that was huge!! Well cooked, tasty and fresh. Waffle with fried chicken – American dinner classic!! Amazing. We also had a Hickory’s breakfast and pork in bourbon pancakes. There was no piece of food on the table that wasn’t lovely.
Service was very good, friendly and attentive but not in your face.
It was so good I now booked table to take my husband out for some lovely food. I have a feeling this will become our favourite place for celebratory meals of any kind.

We’ve visited multiple Hickory’s locations up and down the country, so having one finally open right on our doorstep in Northampton is amazing. We’ve been looking forward to it for ages, and it definitely lived up to the hype!
We came for my mate’s birthday. The original booking was for 10 but ended up being 6 of us – the staff didn’t make any fuss, kept the table as it was, and were completely accommodating.
The food was incredible, exactly the standard we expect from Hickory’s. I had the chicken tacos to start with – soft, flavourful, and honestly some of the best tacos I’ve had. For my main, I went for the Carnivore Platter and every single piece of meat on it was amazing. My wife had the brisket, and she said it’s the best brisket she’s had out of all the Hickory’s we’ve visited across the country, which says a lot considering how many we’ve been to!
We gave the staff a birthday cake on arrival for them to bring out after the meal, and they went above and beyond. They presented it beautifully on a slate board with “Happy Birthday” written on it and even added a sparkler. They usually do something similar with their own cake slices, so it was great to see the same effort with ours.

I recently visited Hickory’s Smokehouse in Northampton and had a fantastic experience. The food was outstanding and truly worth every penny. Beyond the menu, the atmosphere was welcoming and the venue itself is beautifully maintained. A special mention to RUVA who was our waitress – she was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Highly recommended!

The staff were super friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. We ordered the platter for two and it was absolutely incredible — perfect for sharing and packed with flavour. The variety was amazing: Texas-style, well-marbled grain-fed beef brisket, Memphis-style BBQ glazed baby back ribs, cowboy-buttered smoked chicken pieces, smoked pork jalapeño & cheese sausage, barbecue hand-pulled pork with pit beans, hot-honey glazed pork belly, and bourbon-glazed smoked chicken wings. Every single item was spot on.
A special mention has to go to the manager, who was unbelievably kind and insisted on giving us the meal free of charge because of the delay. I wish I got her name so I could thank her properly — outstanding customer service.
Highly recommend this place. Great atmosphere, exceptional food and service, and a drinks menu with something for everyone. We’ll definitely be back!

We visited hickory smokehouse located in Northampton on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed, we booked 5 days in advance and it was clear that every single table was full. It’s a huge restuarant with a massive menu, the inside interior is themed to southern USA and it looks great, decorations and pictures fill the walls, with paintings and wall murals too, it seriously looks great, there is a lot of wood everywhere and the vibe inside is great with nice music playing. There is also a cinema for the kids which was cool. Despite it being busy, the service was fast, we were given free water on arrival as well as popcorn which you can watch them make fresh at the front of the restaurant. I got the pig n chicks meat platter and it was huge, it came with fries, house slaw, a rack of ribs, a chicken and chicken wings which were all delicious, with the chicken wings being a highlight for me. My partner got the steak which I am told was also very nice. The house bbq sauce was great and was a highlight for me, it worked well with the ribs. The portions are huge and tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant, it is a new favourite in the local area for me and I will definitely be returning to try the brisket. My only complaints are that Amex is not accepted (which i find shocking considering the size of the franchise) and that refills were not free (which given the type of restaurant this is and that a tip is automatically added to the bill, I would expect).

Service is awfully over the top, even compared to American southern hospitality!
The food? We actually complained as soon as it came. Portion size was tiny (one tiny slice of brisket, half a sausage, a half dry pouissan and a lump of tough pork belly). We did get another tray after complaining but still not great. Our server was very apologetic and lovely but was not shocked and said we were not the first.The ribs had to be pulled apart and I don’t know what “Kansas” sauce they are using but the only flavour it had was “thick”
Not much upsets me more than bad/disappointing food.
My creditentials you ask? A massive foodie, went to Texas on a smoking pilgrimage and own 3 smokers at home. I have had great BBQ and smoked food in Northampton/ the UK so it is possible.
“The red ring is a sign of good brisket” correct! No wonder mine didn’t have one.
Oh parking is good, that’s something right?
