WOW. One of the best experiences I’ve had since I can remember. From the get go staff were absolutely phenomenal. Constantly checking up on us offering drinks and showing us around to the cinema rooms and getting us popcorn with a movie of our choice. The food was absolutely incredible and the atmosphere was unmatched. My entire family enjoyed the night thoroughly and have already been discussing our next trip. I could not recommend this place more!!!

Amazing BBQ Feast – Outstanding Service from Caitlyn!
We had a fantastic experience at Hickory’s Smokehouse Cardiff.
The Food:
We started with the Pretzel and Bacon Bites, which were absolutely amazing—highly recommend them! For the main event, we shared the Steak Platter, which was cooked perfectly and very generous. We also had the Blooming Onion on the side; it was huge, crispy, and the perfect accompaniment to the meat. You definitely won’t leave here hungry!
The Service:
Our server, Caitlyn, was super! She was friendly and attentive throughout. We had a bit of a wait for our beer, but the team handled it perfectly and gave it to us for free to make up for the delay. It’s rare to see a place handle things so professionally and proactively.
The Atmosphere:
The place is massive and has a really cool vibe. A huge highlight is that they even have a cinema inside!
Overall, a brilliant spot for a big meal with top-tier service. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Came here yesterday for my partners birthday. We enjoyed it. Great food and the service was good. Loved the surprise for his birthday off them and the singing. I liked the popcorn we were given too. Thank you.

Went for my partners birthday, friendly and welcoming staff from the beginning. Ice cold water and free popcorn brought to the table, lovely little extra. I had a grape soda float and my partner had the peach ice tea, both tasted amazing, had the gumbo as a starter, first time trying gumbo and im so glad I did, absolutely amazing, tasted fresh , flavourful and had a nice little kick. My partner had the chicken tacos which were the best tacos she’s tried, full of fresh peppers, onions etc and the chicken was seasoned to perfection. I had the chicken and beef burger, whatever the sauce they used on that blew my taste buds, I always have a burger everywhere I go and this one was my favourite so far, and those pickles were soooo crunchy and fresh. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough, go check it out if you love your American food or just food in general. Will be back again for my birthday .

There’s a reason the car park is always full and it’s hard to get a reservation. This place is amazing. We had the garlic butter pretzel for starter to share, salmon and the carnivore tray for main and chocolate cake and cookies for dessert. Cost around £100 including 2 pints and soft drinks. Lots of options of fish and meat, not too many veggie or vegan options that I saw. They do have dairy free and gluten free options though. There’s a cinema room that plays kids films to keep the little one occupied whilst waiting for food which was cool to see! And they have unlimited popcorn for the table and kids for the cinema. Will definitely go back. The service is as American as the menu. Although it was super busy, our food and drinks came quickly.

Finally managed to get a booking for a place I’d heard so much about.
It didn’t disappoint.
Went on a Saturday afternoon, atmosphere was great. As soon as you walk in the smell of BBQ hits you and straight away you’re hungry.
So much to choose from on the menu, so my partner and I decided on the sharing platter.
Absolutely incredible, so much flavour on each of the meats.
My favourite was probably the Brisket and the sausage. BBQ was Devine.
Great choice of drinks to choose from.
No room for desert, but they all sounded amazing.
Can’t recommend this place enough and look forward to going back.
Staff were all really helpful and friendly.
Don’t think about it, just book.

We had a great visit to Hickory’s. We had a chef’s table so great view of the kitchen. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The menu had a wide choice of bbq food, something for everyone. We ordered a gray to share and a childs meal. We loved the free popcorn and flag and colouring stuff for our little one. The drinks menu was amazing so many cocktails, ice teas and sodas. The food we ordered all came quickly and was beautifully cooked. We can’t wait to visit again. We loved sitting in the cinema after.

Came here for a work lunch and was not disappointed.
The food was amazing and the portions were extremely generous.
I had the “smokehouse experience” and everything was cooked perfectly.
But the real star of the show was the brisket! Absolutely melted in the mouth.
They service was really good, with nice little touches like water and popcorn bought to your table as you enter.
Our server Ellie was lovely and really friendly.
The place was well decorated and the country music was quiet enough so you could hear it, but not have to shout over the top of it.
All in all… Well worth a visit

Food and drinks are absolutely incredible. Full of flavour and good value for money.
I was disappointed with the service as 1. We didn’t get table water and popcorn, 2. There were other tables that had “Happy Birthday” slates on them, and ours didn’t, despite me putting in the booking notes that we were celebrating a birthday, and 3. We didn’t get given spoons for our dessert. I found a manager who very quickly rectified the situation, brought out a Happy Birthday dessert and sung happy birthday and also took off our drinks and dessert from our bill. Absolutely went above and beyond, as I’d have been happy with just the birthday dessert, but to also take other items off our bill really did shock me. The manager also assured me that he’d fed our experience back to the team and said it wasn’t acceptable, hence the comped items.
I genuinely am not one to complain, especially when it’s busy and mistakes happen, but it was disappointing especially as I’d had the reservation booked for almost 3 months.
Given how amazing the food was and how swiftly mistakes were dealt with, I still think they deserve the 5 stars I’ve given. I will be back!

Really great service and theming!! Can’t believe how it’s changed into this place from America when it used to be a carvery!! Staff were fantastic!
We HIGHLY recommend the garlic bites with beer infused cheese sauce!! While a little oily, we were super impressed by them! The cheese sauce does taste like it’s got a hint of tomato but if youre into it like we are then it’s fantastic!! Drinks are also fantastic! Shame there’s not decent public transport routes nearby so we can both enjoy the alcoholic drinks together.
I want to mention the veggie roast okra gumbo. It was VERY VERY spicy!!! I know that gumbo has a natural fire to it but even this is really spicy! I don’t think thats communicated clearly with the menu so this is just a “heads up” as I certainly wasn’t expecting it. If I’m honest it was so spicy it didn’t have any other flavour (everyone’s a critic). This is coming from the person that has A LOT of Nando’s most spiciest sauce! Not sure if I’d have the gumbo again when there’s other choices which have more flavour – I’ve been to other hickory’s. Have to say though that this has been the best ambience/ themed hickory’s I’ve been to. We’ll definitely be back!
