We were visiting from Florida and the Hickory Tavern was right next door to our hotel. This place is so awesome I can hardly believe we were so lucky to have found it. The food was delicious, fresh and hot. The restaurant was very clean and well kept. I thought it was a little pricey until I saw the huge portions!! Our server Adrian was absolute perfection. Love love love this place!!

So we arrived early to sit outside and finish watching the golf this evening. We’re seated at 535 outside and order by 550. There were very few tables anywhere but on thr patio which wasn’t full. It took 40 minutes to get our wings and sandwich. Way too long. Our waitress informed us there was large orders that must have been in front of ours, however there were hardly any tables. In addition my husband’s wings came out with BROWN celery 2 stalks (see photon for one brown end) and 3 tortilla chips, the wings were BONE DRY. The reuben was adequate. Unfortunately for a good location, outdoor space and parking there doesn’t seem to be any quality control. The table next to us as we were leaving had a RAW burger come out when she had ordered medium well. When she told the waitress her response was ” oh shoot ok keep that one and I’ll order another” just take the burger away. It seems like they need some guidance and supervision. Not to mention 8 servers around the hostess station gossiping and no acknowledgment when I walked in until I announced myself. We won’t be back.

My son and I have gone here several times on Sundays to watch the NFL. The servers have been great. Sometimes they are short staffed but they are working hard. Today we sat at the bar and the bartenders were on top of it. So many TV’s with all the games so no matter where you sit you will be able to see the games you want to watch. If you play fantasy football, it’s a great place to watch all the games with some friends

Great place for a causal drink night. Been here for several occasions and I especially like their wings and Pow pow shrimp. Even after Covid they managed to maintain the quality of their food – recently ordered their shrimp for takeout and everything including the sauce and the crispness was on point.

Awesome beer selection and right on the border of Chapel Hill/Carrboro so very convenient to the UNC hospitals. We were staying at the Hampton Inn, which is connected, so it was very easy to access with parking already paid for by our hotel visit.
I had the corona light with the lil Greek salad and the chips and salsa. The chips had a zesty seasoning which was pretty delicious and the salsa was hearty with numerous chunks of tomatoes, which I liked. The salad, pictured, was good but the dressing was lacking “spunk”. Maybe a little more of a serving would have made it better. The mini croissant was super flaky and a perfect pairing. Great place to watch sports and friendly staff. They even welcomed my Duke shirt 😉

Wonderful customer service. Great atmosphere! Love the tavern feel with the bio tables and giant TVs around the space. The food was delicious!! Key(not sure of the spelling) was our server and he was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great suggestions on what to try for our first visit. The host at the front door was very kind and welcoming. The manager came around. Few times and checked in on us. Everything was amazing! We will definitely be back!
I got the Southern Fried Chicken BLT with Fries and it was so good! My son got a burger and tots and he LOVED it! Oh and we are ranch lovers and the ranch was delish!

Ordered online while staying at the attached hotel. Staff at the door not very friendly. Online order process was easy, and the time was accurate. The description on the website (photo) is not what you get. I got the salmon and paid $19. I’d be thrilled if it looked like anything in the photo. The portion is not worth the cost :/ but delicious. In the photo it’s sitting on a a cedar plank, so don’t mistake the size.
