Finger lickin’ good! Came down from St. Pete. Best bbq we’ve had out to eat in a long time! St. Louis ribs and pork shank pulled clean off the bone. Carolina pulled pork had the perfect tang. Corn with roasted peppers and onions delicious. Can’t wait to come back for more and save room for dessert.

So “Down-Home” you’ll be looking for Granny in the corner knitting a blanket…
Been wanting to try this place for the 3 years we’ve been in this area and finally made it happen. Now have to make up for lost time!
Not much from the outside but then imagine walking into a rustic, clean cabin-type one-story room with a southern atmosphere and rolling chairs – Bingo – this is it.
We stopped in for a late lunch and were cheerfully greeted and shown to table. Lots of outside tables available too if you are so inclined.
The menu makes it hard to make a choice – the most amazing thing is they have a separate menu just for sides and there is OVER TWENTY of them which rotate daily/weekly. Some items you probably have never heard of but want to try!
The three of us had Carolina pork BBQ, BBQ chicken and char-grilled pork shanks – all mouth-watering delights. The side were also amazing – I had roasted corn and peppers – delish ! And don’t forget your black-eyed peas.
A variety of sauces compliment the table … and oh did I mention the comfortable rolling chairs. Come check it out, but you can only dig into this treasure 4 days a week – because they be closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

LOVE THIS RESTAURANT. They have catered our resort for the passed two years with our Valentine’s Meal and everyone is so happy and raving about their food. Their ribs are out of this world and their corn pudding is delicious. I had many of our guest tell me that they never had corn pudding like this before and they loved it. Angela delivered the food and set everything up for us. She is a great asset for Hickory Hollow. She is so easy to work with. Trust me when I say, you can not go wrong if you want them to cater your meal. My husband and I go to the restaurant on a regular basis because their food is so good. Love this place and love the wait staff that work there.

If you want what I call good old southern atmosphere then this is the place. I had the catfish single plate and fried green tomatoes and I was stuffed and had enough for lunch the next day. I highly recommend for a good old time this is your spot.

The Carolina vinegar base BBQ with applesauce and either greenbeans or baby carrot are my favorite but any of their southern sides are a great choice. The corn fritters do not disappoint! This place still represents a good old school restaurant that relies on excellent food instead of a flashy new interior or a view of the water. If you ever had a chance to enjoy their food 5, 10 or 20 years ago you will not be disappointed because it taste the same today and they probably still have your favorite on the menu.

The food was gross. The chicken tasted like it was from a can. It tasted like it sat in water before heated up and thrown on a plate. The only thing that was half way edible was the crab cake and that wasn’t fresh either. It smelled and tasted really fishy. The service was good. The prices are cheap. But please improve on the quality of your food $32 for chicken that tastes like it was in a can and a fishy smelling crab cake.

This is my favorite BBQ restaurant in Florida, hands down. This family-owned restaurant has been a staple of the community for over 35 years. It’s a great Southern BBQ joint but also specializes in North Carolina style, in addition to the traditional tomato-based sauce, which is fabulous. The food is great; some of my favorite dishes are the fall-off-the-bone pork shanks and ribs seasoned to perfection with some of their tasty BBQ sauce. Chicken wings are another favorite of mine. They have an extensive menu from BBQ regulars like pulled meats to crab cakes, fried catfish, 25 different vegetables, fried green tomatoes, garlic beef sandwiches, and good old-fashioned burgers. The corn fritters are great; I like to dip those in powdered sugar—try it! I always get the corn soufflé as one of my sides, another sweet treat. There is an extensive and unique beer and wine list. Their desserts are worth saving room for—the cobbler of the day à la mode or crisp, or Southern pies like key lime or pecan. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It’s a warm, friendly, cozy restaurant with Jarret’s mom greeting guests with a warm smile, and some of the wait staff have been working there as long as I have been coming. As much as I love the restaurant, I have to say the catering is even better; planning a party? Let them do the cooking for you; your guests will thank you. He even caters Italian food double yum. He hasn’t cooked something yet I did not enjoy.

Food was delicious. Excellent service. Will definitely make the hour and a half drive back to dine here again. The cheese curds and corn pudding alone are worth the trip.

Had been wanting to try this place for a while and it didn’t disappoint. Loved the Brunswick Stew, served really hot (as it should be). Excellent smoked chicken, cooked just right. Pork a little dry but good-tasting as well. Had squash with cheese for the first time ever at the suggestion of the waitress… very interesting. Friendly service, laid-back atmosphere with fun decor. Would definitely come back.
