My buddy and I were in town for training at Camp Atterbury and were craving for BBQ. We were glad to have found Hickory Hillz because the food was great and served fast. I ordered the 2-meat sampler with the burnt ends and brisket with mild barbecue sauce and the mac and cheese and coleslaw which were all tasted good. My buddy and I came at the right time (1130) because the place filled up pretty fast. Highly recommended for anyone craving great BBQ.

So disappointed. We normally love the brisket. Today I think we got the bottom of the batch. It was nothing but fat. Barely got two sandwiches of decent meat out of a whole pound.

Food was wonderful and it was an overflowing sandwich! I got the Boss Hog and potato salad. The service was fine but we had a party of 5 during lunch rush and the staff was training so although the food came out fast, it was mixed up and the waitress didn’t know who got what. Also, no fountain drinks. Overall, I would highly recommend due to portion size and quality of food!

We were on a trip home, looking for a local place to eat. Found this place, took a chance, and scored! It’s a great dive with great service. We got the brisket sandwich and loaded nachos with burnt ends. Mac n Cheese was solid. It did not disappoint!

I knew this place was going to be good when I saw the line trailing into the dining area. I ordered the piglet sandwich with a side of mac and cheese. The piglet was delicious, barbecue sauce optional with this much flavor. Macaroni and cheese was exceptional!

First time visiting. We were looking for a bbq place for lunch – found this place while searching on Google Maps.
It’s a small place that I’ve probably driven by a hundred times and didn’t realize it was a restaurant.
My husband and I arrived jist around noon, and we both ordered the brisket sandwich, they give you a choice between 3 sauces (sweet, hot, Carolina gold). Both the sweet and Carolina gold were very good!
When you walk in, you order at the counter, pay, and then find a place to sit (if you’re dining in). In less than 5 min, our sandwiches were brought out to us.
The lady that took our order was very nice and was very thorough with the ordering process. As we were finishing ordering, a huge group of customers walked in, so we had gotten there at just the right time, and she was very nice and patient with those customers’ orders.
We will be back to try other items on their menu.

After seventeen years, I made it back to Hickory Hills. I used to come here with all my Army buddies when stationed here many times at Camp Atterbury. It is safe to say they have improved their recipe. They used to serve dry ribs, now they are wet, but taste so much better. I live two hours away, so i may be back soon.

My husband and I stopped in for a quick lunch on our way to brown county state park. We always stop at Montana mikes but we wanted something more local. I’m so glad we waited and drove into town. This place gave us EXACTLY what we were looking for. The service was great and the food was beyond amazing. We got a half pound of burnt ends, Mac n cheese and Cajun slaw. We will definitely be back. Best sauce we’ve ever had. Thank you.

It’s a mix of good and not so good. The flavor of the pulled pork is really good, but it wasn’t warmer than room temperature when served. The beef brisket was good, but the smoked chicken was dry and hard.

The burgers had good flavor…after picking off the diced onions that weren’t ordered (either of the 2 times she asked what toppings we wanted.)

We would return for the pulled pork, mac and cheese, and green beans.
