Excellent food. Had the brisket nachos and sliced beef sandwich, and a piece of pecan pie! Excellent service! I will return!

Asked for lean brisket and was not disappointed!! Sooo good! We got a family pack for take out. I want to go back and try other menu items. The chicken was delicious as well. Reasonable pricing for high quality.

I ordered BBQ for a large party of 45 people. Very helpful and friendly staff assisted me with my order. It was ready right on time for pick up. I’m always nervous ordering food for a large party from a new place, but they definitely came through for us. They didn’t skimp on the portions- Plenty of food for all of my guests. Food was hot, tender, and tasted great. I’d definitely go there again to cater my next large event. Thanks guys!

The brisket was bland and the sauce tasted like spicy ketchup. The fries were not fully cooked and had a funny taste, like old grease. I did like the okra though. I have had a lot better barbeque and expected more for the price. Will not be back.

Stopped in for first time. Had Pork Sandwich with fries and wifey had loaded potatoes with chopped beef. Really like the bun and pork. Fries were fresh cut. Wife’s potatoes was big. Hot and full of ingredients. Really good fresh tea. Clean and polite. I recommend for sure.

I had the smoked turkey sandwich, my son had a chopped beef sandwich. Both meats were tender and juicy. Did not like the sauce, nor did my son. Wanted some more smoke on the meat. Understand that BBQ is a subjective subject, as well as BBQ sauce. This sauce is traditional Texas (aka Rudy’s). We both prefer the completion in the immediate area. 2 sandwiches, side of coleslaw and mac and cheese, with a bottled Dr. Pepper and a water $24. Mac and cheese was average, coleslaw pretty good.

It’s not better than Swinging Door, but it does have pretty good service and decent food. Of course, taste is always subjective, but I feel their unique qualities aren’t really all that amazing.

Wonderful food! Huge plates, cafeteria style and quite a few selections- enough for everyone and not so massive its overwhelming. Staff was friendly but needs to annunciate/be louder and better communication is desired – i would imagine this will come as they learn what people might request or have a preference to. I plan on going back soon, maybe a nice day to eat on the patio. I plan on updating to 5 stars if communication is better with customers and i will update the full review at that time. I had suggested splitting the chicken fried steak with my husband next time (we nearly always split larger meals as were both on the smaller side) and he flat out told me no way because his roasted chicken was that good. So their food is definitely 5 star quality.

The place is super clean, smells nice, and the staff is super friendly. However, the food was pretty underwhelming and it was $62 for a family of 5 (with 2 waters and a kid’s meal). To be fair, I did not pay the extra 1.50 or so to get the brisket, which is what Texas BBQ is all about. I am biased because I’m not from TX originally and grew up with different BBQ; I’m not a big fan of TX bbq anyway. However, comparing the food and selection at other similar places, the food is still underwhelming. I have had brisket that I’ve enjoyed before. I will say the pinto beans were pretty tasty. For me, the value to taste ratio does not warrant another visit. If you like TX bbq, I would say try it, because otherwise, it is a nice place to visit.

Hickory Barn is definitely a great new BBQ spot for the Pecan Grove area! They have a happy hour lunch menu that I most definitely approve of, and I’m a huge fan of their Smoked Gouda Mac and Cheese, I have never had anything like it, their natural cut fries are also a plus, I had the chopped BBQ brisket sandwich and it was fantastic! This place is a must try place for sure!
