Soon as I parked my car and opened up my door…I could smell the aroma of some good food cooking…that was a good sign in my books. I been watching the locations for Hibachi mobile food truck for quite some time. I was off today because of the holidays, so I was able to try one of their food trucks near me. I was immediately greeted as I walked up to the window. The prices were reasonable and the gentleman didn’t tell me he was out of anything unlike the previous food truck I went to earlier today. I placed my orders and within 8 minutes my food was ready. The prices are cash prices and taxes added when using a debit or credit card which he told me before I paid for my food. When I got home I was a Lil on the fence because of the disappointment earlier. The containers were heavy and full to the brim. Both containers were full of flavor and this was before we added yum yum sauce and ginger. I definitely recommend this food truck.

I have been going to the Hibachi Mobile truck for years and absolutely loved it. However, Hibachi Mobile recently invested in a secondary truck to expand their business and the drop in overall quality is extremely noticeable. They have skimped majorly on their portions and have shrunken the size of their to-go boxes. To no surprise, their pricing does not reflect their new smaller sized meals. For these portions / prices, you’re better off going to a restaurant for the ‘sit-down experience and hibachi show’. They also are super skimpy on their yum yum sauce and they charge way too much for a Jell-O shot sized cup of it.

Had this for the first time tonight. Only giving two because the amount of food, although still pricey. Paid $47 for two platters. Ordered the spicy chicken and a chicken and steak combo. Each order came with large portion of “fried rice” stir fry vegetables and the protein and “yum yum” sauce.

Rice was not asian rice consistency and lacked flavor. They used the frozen mixed vegetable mix and mixed with soy sauce.

Spicy chicken was too tart and dry. Regular chicken was dry as well.

Steak lacked sear and flavor. Yum yum sauce… could be the store bought bottles, not sure but still lacked flavor.

Best part about the platters were the stir fry vegetables.

It took at least 30mins for them to prepare our food as well.

I tried this food truck last night after I saw it in my neighborhood. I love hibachi so I figured why not. I ordered 4 chicken dinners for me and my family plus extra yum yum sauce because the containers are kinda small. Service was good and quick. You get a good amount for $15 also. My issue is the food. It lacks seasoning and the seasoning you could taste was off. The chicken was dry. It had corn which is an absolute no. The broccoli which I eventually picked off tasted of fish. I like fish only if I’m expecting it. The saving grace was the yum yum sauce. I’m attempting to finish the leftovers and they don’t taste good the next day which is sad because I usually enjoy hibachi more as leftovers. Overall the service was good but the food was disappointing.

$56 for 2 plates. That is absolutely ridiculous for the portions they give. I used to love this place so much as they come to our neighborhood all the time, but no more. The portion is so much smaller, and it tastes so bland. They are also giving the smallest yum yum sauce. They also have the audacity to ask for at least 15% tip for a takeout service, with that type of ridiculous price. I remember just 2 years ago I can get a very nice meal with extra vegetables for $20 a plate at most. I will never come back and the recent negative reviews say a lot about how this business is going downhill. I would advise any of you considering this place to avoid it.

I ordered spicy shrimp hibachi today and it just wasn’t giving hibachi. It tasted more like they boiled rice and didn’t even bother stir frying it. I’ve also never known corn or green beans to be in hibachi. It had no flavor whatsoever so ever. I also don’t understand how I had to wait for them to cook it and it was barely hot. The only thing that saved it was the fact that I came home and drenched it in soy sauce and stir fried it to my liking.

The phone numbers are all over the place. Call the number on their facebook, and the man gives a diff number to call. Call the number on the truck, and the man says there isn’t a truck in town. But two of my coworkers just came from lunch w hibachi mobile. Also the portions and taste are not consistent.
