A little pricey, but definitely the best Japanese restaurant we’ve been to in the area.

The dinner for two house special deluxe SLAPS! Everything was delicious, we could only eat half of our food there was so much. We eat a lot of Asian cuisine and this was the best we’ve had in awhile.

The restaurant was very clean and staff were courteous. The chef at our table was good at his craft. However, all the food including the salad dressing were so lacking in flavor and the miso soup was so salty that it couldn’t be eaten. It tasted like all the sauces were nothing but soy sauce with a little of something else in them. I asked for a ginger sauce and it had no flavor of ginger. The fried dumplings were really good and the menu stated they were served with a vinegar dipping sauce when, in fact, it was nothing but soy sauce and not a hint of vinegar, garlic, ginger, etc. I was hoping to have found a good Japanese restaurant close to home, but not so.

Second time at a hibachi steakhouse, this one has been my favorite experience so far. A friend recommended that we go to lunch here because it’s the only one she will go to in town. Steak and chicken were amazing, green tea was smooth and earthy, the ginger dressing on the side salad alone would bring me back. Great cook, very friendly, waitress was kind, service was fast even though we came in right as they had a lunch rush.

Showed up at 8:56 and a server out front smoking told me they were closed… sign says 10pm . Drove 15min. This is the new normal I guess. Good food when they decide to be open usually.

Our go to restaurant in the area was closed for good, so we decided to try this place because it was next door. I’ve never had a hibachi do me wrong until the other day! When we walked in the smell was putrid. Menu pricing was a little strange, but I’ve always learned with hibachi, the more you pay, the better the food. WRONG! I ordered NY Strip, Chicken combination dinner with a side of fried noodles. Steak tasted older than the building itself. The chicken was the only decent part of this experience. When the waitress sat down my plate, I was absolutely repulsed by the noodles, just the way they looked. Soggy fettuccine noodles? Never seen that at hibachi before. They had no flavor and had to be DROWNED in sauce to be edible. Did I mention how soggy they were? Waitress was fine until she decided to keep my change for herself. Was I going to leave it on the table? Yes. Did she know that? No. As a server myself, I would never take a tables change unless they told me to, even if it was just a nickel. Just go to Fujiyama.

Depending on what you want from a restaurant, you’ll get much of what you need and maybe not quite all. First off, the place does not look imposing – the outside looks like decoration and keeping it up was almost an afterthought. Now there is a pretty good size parking lot so that part is a plus. As you could expect, on a Saturday late afternoon there was rather a long wait I’ve been on the order of almost 2 hours. The place inside has nice seating etc and has kind of an interesting layout with a bar and none hibachi style to the left and then all the hibachi cooking area tables to the right. The decorating was very very plain. On the food side they have a lot of nice sushi the crispy California roll that I got was quite good. I did try the Japanese egg rolls and I will say that the crust was superior but the inside just tasted like a bunch of cabbage it was very bland. Now I had a shared dinner, and part of the food was the filet and the scallops very much on the plus side, the scallops were among the best I think I’ve had at a Japanese steakhouse. The filet was certainly good, although the pieces were a little bit too large for me. the gentleman who did the cooking tried very hard to entertain us with small jokes, but they were very subtle and you had to listen closely in order to get them. My wife and I and the rest of our party did catch all his jokes so we were constantly laughing. He did a nice job with the food prep. Oftentimes, the cook is so interested in going quickly and flinging his arms around Eddie kind of makes a mess where he’s cooking. This guy was an exception – he kept this cooking area neat just about the whole time. The food was quite good with the exception of the Japanese spring rolls. I would certainly go back there again. The prices were competitive and not as high as many places I’ve been to like this. Now the wait staff was very attentive so they get two stars on that. All in all, this time well spent.

Their rating was already at 2.5 but had to give them the benefit of the doubt. Food was great but honestly the prices are too high. I’m new to the area and was wanting to try out other Hibachi places. Dinner for 2 costs $90+ (when normally, we only pay $40-60)

Bad service. Charged extra for multiple sides we didn’t get. Waitress had a bad attitude from the start & we sat without drink refills from the time our order was taken to finishing our food. $60 for 2 people to not even be eating on the grill side & service this bad was pretty absurd. Wasn’t busy at the slightest. Sad people can hold jobs just by showing up now days. Won’t be back.
