the food was really good. I called in and it was ready within 15 mins. The garden rolls are huge! They asked if I wanted all three sauces on top—I said yes, but I wouldn’t do that again. It was too much sauce for me but still good. The hibachi plate was so good, I didn’t even need any sauce on it. (I used the sauce the next day) The reheat value on the hibachi plate is a 10/10. The roll was so huge, I got full off of that and ate the hibachi plate the next day. The only thing that I didn’t like was paying for the chili sauce, but it seems like that’s a thing so I usually keep chili sauce at home so I don’t have to get theirs. The two big containers of yum yum sauce came w the order, so I get it. Overall, I enjoyed it, and I would go back.

So far, I’ve tried three total yakimesi around the Hattiesburg area and this is the best one. Surprisingly great portion sizes, the sauce is spectacular, friendly service, the fried rice itself was good without the sauce, and lastly, the chicken was nice. I would definitely come back!

“My son thoughtfully bought hibachi chicken for my birthday and another for my pregnant daughter so she wouldn’t feel left out. However, upon opening mine and my daughters, I found plain, dry chicken with no teriyaki or any sauce, along with rice and broccoli. Having enjoyed delicious hibachi at OEC in Hattiesburg and Brandon many times, I was quite disappointed with my experience at Hibachi express in Laurel, MS. The next day, April 18th, I called to inquire if the chicken was meant to have sauce. The person who answered confirmed it should have, but because I had eaten about a quarter of the rice out of hunger on my Birthday the night before, her boss refused a return or replacement. It felt unreasonable to rush out on my birthday evening to return a gift my son bought me , so I waited until the next day . I only ate some of the rice, not even all of it.”. If you’ve had a bad experience at hibachi express, I would recommend driving to Hattiesburg or Brandon, Mississippi and getting the best hibachi from OEC!

My favorite thing to get is the Mississippi roll. It’s pure deliciousness wrapped in a soy wrap with crab, shrimp, avacodo, cucumber and crunchies and rice,of course, and drizzled with 3 sauces making it a light lunch. The egg rolls are very good too. The hibachi shrimp is fresh and flavorful also.

Food was great service was horrible. Waited over an hour for 5 rolls. Was met with an attitude when simply asking how much longer my wait would be (I had already been there for 45 minutes at this point) 3-4 people had already walked in ordered and left with sushi there was absolutely no good customer service. She was rushing through everyone’s order carrying on a conversation with her coworker in another language. Very rude very unprofessional.

I was welcomed when I came in. I waited about 10 minutes or a little less for my order. I had the chicken and steak hibachi. The sweet tea wasn’t really sweet but I enjoyed my meal. The plate was bit on the small side I had a time mixing my food. I did have to use a lot of yum yum sauce. It’s rather light. If I was asked if I would return..I would say yes for the price.

I was very hungry after driving from Tyler, Texas yesterday and didn’t want to cook, this was one of the few places open when I googled places to eat. Sorry…didn’t want fast food hamburgers! The service was very fast, portions were huge! Nice atmosphere and they also make fresh sushi there!! I got the steak and scallops, the beef was tender and juicy, the scallops were very tender but had a bit of a bitter taste. The rice and vegetables were very tasty and over all I was happy with my meal, except for the scallops. Excellent price, very fast service and seems to be a popular place. I definitely would go back over and over again to try their other meals and the sushi, although I didn’t try any looked delicious and very fresh!

The review below about the 5 rolls. That lady lying. 1) she order 6 rolls 2) They have told me I would expect it to b a 30 minute wait as they told her as well right after they took her order. 3) she was the one that started off with the attitude. And about the girl talking with her coworker. What was she supposed to do when they’re waiting for the food to come out??? Just stand there and wait for the food to magically be finished?? If she didn’t wanna wait she could’ve went somewhere else faster instead of annoying them teens bc of her order
