I was genuinely impressed with Hi Sushi on Hespeler Road. The sushi is exceptional—fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. The portions are generous, and the pricing is very reasonable, especially considering the quality.
I honestly didn’t expect this level of quality from a small sushi spot tucked into a plaza, but I was extremely satisfied. If you’re a sashimi lover like I am, you won’t be disappointed—the sashimi is outstanding.
On top of the great food, the staff are friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. This place is absolutely worth a visit, and I’ll definitely be coming back.

Hi Sushi in Cambridge is a hidden gem. Their food isn’t just fresh and tasty, it also comes looking beautiful. I also get the Las Vegas Roll and it’s always delicious I highly recommend it along with numerous other rolls. It’s my favourite sushi restaurant in Cambridge!

Took my previous review down because I wanted to give them another fair honest shot. It was not worth it. I’ve been coming to hi sushi for years. Lately the taste of the food is honestly just not good. I used to love them, ordered weekly. Now I don’t think I’ll be returning. Rolls were sloppy, beef had a weird fishy taste and rubber texture. The crab in the crab meat rolls were like bullets. I was super disappointed and so was the rest of my party. A few other issues taste/food quality wise.
Overall the food was bad and definitely not worth the price. It is only slightly better than grocery store sushi.
Best of luck to the business, we won’t be returning.

The sushi was delicious. The first thing we usually order is a hand-roll. If the nori seaweed is crunchy, with vinegar sushi rice, along with a delicious piece of fish then it’s a good sign for things to come. However, the tuna sushi seems to be dyed more red, as it stained the rice pink. Therefore, if you don’t want anything artificial, I would avoid tuna.
Aside from sushi, we the enjoyed beef ribs, although a bit greasy. The cheese wontons with the sweet sauce were surprisingly delicious. The sweet potato tempura was very thin and covered with lots of tempura. Most tempura had thick batter which is probably meant to make you full, so to get your money’s worth minimize the amount of tempura or remove some of the batter. The custard bun wasn’t worth ordering as the filling wasn’t runny and tasted bland, but this was fine since it’s not a dim sum restaurant.
The dessert menu was enjoyable as there were a variety of ice cream selections ranging from vanilla, chocolate, mango, strawberry. They had blueberry cheese cake and strawberry cheese cake in small shot glasses. My favourite dessert at this restaurant would have to be the crème brûlée, as it wasn’t overtly sweet but you could taste the cream and it was primarily sweetened by the torched sugar on top.
Pricing wise it was about 37.99 per person on a weekday. Overall, for the price and taste I would definitely go again.

Very good price for a pretty good quality overall. The salmon sashimi seemed much better and fattier than other sushi AYCE in the area. No line during lunch time. Lunch time can also get the dinner menu options by paying dinner price. Tablet ordering. Has squid sashimi as well!

Had the best experience there. It was my birthday yesterday and not only did they have an incredible all-you-can-eat selection full of amazing food, they also had a special something for birthdays and even put on the birthday song and sang. Best birthday by far. Would definitely recommend to others. Can’t wait to eat there again 🙂
