This is always my go-to, never disappointed, dinner in a pinch pizza choice.
I eat it hot, I eat it cold, I eat it when 9 days old.
It’s a new York style pizza, with flavors that always seem to work in harmony. No one thing about it steals the spotlight. Other Pizzas will have savory cheese, or a zesty sauce that overshadoweds the rest of the flavors, but Hey’s balances toppings, flavor, and density to make a pizza that works for lunch, dinner, breakfast, lunch at work, and midnight snack.
Others might say, “I’ve had WAY better pizza in New York!” Good for them! If you wanna drive at the way to the big apple for pizza, be my guest. These types of pizza snobs are usually picky eaters who don’t appreciate the wonderful diversity that is American Pizza.
It’s not the cheapest pizza in town, for that you’d have to go to Little Caesars (which can kick rocks for their TERRIBLE Customer service!), or the local grocery store’s freezer section.
Gary Hey, the owner, is a great guy. Always interested to know who you are and how he might know you or your family. He takes pride in knowing the community his business serves, which leads me to my biggest complaint about Hey’s…
They don’t accept cards. There’s a bank across the street with an ATM, but I don’t wanna give them $4 just so I can buy pizza! Gary, PLEASE, I know it’s a pain, but adding card payments could REALLY help your customer service. I know you have to pay for it, but I’d RATHER, pay around a dollar more for my pizza then pay the bank. I already have to risk my left walking across the street for pizza, I don’t wanna have to do it AGAIN to get cash.
The dining room is open again (it had been closed for a long time once covid hit) these are self-service tables they do not wait on you.
There’s no parking lot specifically for Hey’s, so you either have to park on the street, or in the bank’s parking lot (just be quick because the bank does not like this, they have signs up)
They also have other things on their menu besides pizza, but I rarely Branch out.
Love this place, hope it’s in business for a long time so my kids and their kids can enjoy Hey’s pizza too.
Had no trouble finding parking at all. Overall great experience
After hours on the road with a growling stomach and fading hope, I spotted this pizza shop like a mirage in a strip mall desert. Should’ve kept driving when I saw the parking lot was designed by someone who hates cars and people, but hey…”don’t judge a book by its cover,” right?
Wrong. So wrong.
I ordered a cheese pizza, a steak & cheese sub, and fries. Let’s break this disaster down:
Pizza: Tasted like someone sprinkled it with sour patch kids and regret. The dough was still doing yoga, raw and stretchy. And the cheese? Smelled like it lost a bet.
Steak & Cheese: Not grilled. Not toasted. I think they baked it? With Miracle Whip. On a cheesesteak. That’s a crime in at least three states.
Fries: Still frozen. Not “cold.” Not “undercooked.” I mean I bit into one and my molar tapped out.
They only take cash, the cashier looked like she lost the will to live mid-shift, and the place was so dirty I didn’t want to breathe too hard. I wasted $20 and a piece of my soul.
Lesson learned: when your gut tells you to turn around… listen.
Older establishment. 34 years in business. I can see / taste why.
